Mcfee Alerts that Defiance Setup.exe is a potentially Dangerous Download

I bought Defiance when it first came out and didn't have any problems downloading the game before. I have been away from the game for a while and thought I would back and give it a try and see what has changed. When I tried to download the client on the Trion Worlds Account Management page today I was very surprised to see the McAfee warning. Anyone know why my firewall is tagging this as a dangerous download? Thanks.

Most likely a simple case of being a False Positive

McAffee and few others (free ones mostly) are pretty idiotic.
McAffee killed my Skype and WinAmp for "being dangerous".

Since I run MS SE I had no more issues, anywhere.
Not that i want to make any advertising here, but MS SE is about the best of the best, especially amongst the free ones.

Sorry to hear you ran into trouble with the Defiance patcher. As was mentioned, false positives can happen, but they do not mean there is anything amiss. Make sure to add Defiance as an exception to your Windows firewall and to McAfee so the game is given permission to access the Internet.

If you continue to have any issues, check out this article for tips to reduce patching issues.

As always, if you need any additional assistance at all, just contact a GM and they will be happy to work with you on resolving this issue.
