It isn't there in the way you want Reb. The option he is refering to turns off ALL voices in game, not just ego.

That's what I was thinkin'. Should be a way to shut her Auditory Control Function off. It's not like my character talks back! I like the subtitles much better.

Noobs make up maybe 10% of the people smashing locks as soon as the room is open.

The remainder are complete &!(@@! who can't succeed in the laughable PvP side of the game, so the only way they can annoy people is by ruining 15 minutes of game time in the WM.

You can change his/her voice to any of the presets any time you want, in the settings menu. To change his appearance you have to buy a character redo from the Defiance cash shop.

If anything, I think EGO talks too much. Wish there was a way to silence her... permanently.

There IS a way.
Settings, sounds, speech... turn it all the way down.
I myself killed sound entirely, so i can blast metal...
Or something else, if I feel like something else.

I think the problem starts FAR earlier: at The Summoning (uplinking).
We should simply stop uplinking if there is not enough people.
Some newbies will put up a link, sure, but they'll run out of batteries darned fast.
Save yours.
Once you see the newbies are without, simply give a zone tell for WM, wait for the right amount of people... and start uplinking.
Also, I only use ONE battery at a time, to spread my links over a few summons.
This to not just squander them on newbies.

There are ways to make them learn.
