I've had this happen to me as well as I think since you were typing it up on the page but not active such as looking at different threads it's my belief that the forum thinks you're idling and logs you out.

If you aren't using any of the user interface of the forums for over an hour you are in fact idling and it will log you out unless you have set your account to always be recognized.

The suggestion to use a separate word processing program and cut and past it into your post is a good one. I've never used Hulker Cafe but it looks good and the site appears to be user friendly from the little exploring on it that I've done.
