Ok, if I can take on a Volge emergency solo, they may be a touch to easy. I was there when they were first introduced and they were fun, maybe they needed a little adjustment, but they did not need the heavy-duty nerfing they got.

One think this discussion got me thinking about....

Imagine a Minor Arkbreak, with the Original pre-nerf Volge. I think that would be quite challenging. Even worse if the drones got an upgrade to pre-nerf Volge levels also.

That would be super tough, I remember back in the day I would run from them after getting my arse kicked a few times. Would be nice to fear an enemy again.

Official word is still that they were not nerfed, our weapons just got better.

MAybe they can open up new areas and have the emenies there much tougher for the seasoned players who would like to have a challenage
They go down too easy to WOLFHOUND headshots... The only nasty are a buncha bombers if yer solo.

+1 for this. Everyday I log onto Defiance I hope that by some great mistake someone at Trion clicked the wrong button and scaled up health and damage on everything within the game and then pulled one of their dead silence moves and see how players react.

It would be fun if it were so hard if it was even a challenge to drive to an Arkfall let alone driving without volge shooting you up and all enemies running to kill you and your group and just pure insanity. So it be ever so difficult that I shoot off invites to all my friends on my list or just random people around me for HELP on hunting volge. With this I'm also assuming that the volge if we killed them all would drop decent weapons as well.

I think the VOLGE should be just based in SF that way new players can build up there character first . Then they could be the VOLGE we had at the start nice and challenging , plus the VOLGE look abit out of place in the countryside area . IF they were just based in SF then incursions would make more sense , For instance they would start on the bridge and travel all around the BAY AREA map , Then ARK HUNTERS would start at MT and would make there way round to drive them back to SF area for a massive fight plus u could include the WARMASTER or have more then one of them . THEY COULD MAKE IT AN ALL OUT WEEKEND BATTLE FRIDAY TO MONDAY OR SO ON .

Our weapons did get significantly better. If you take what would be an experienced and informed player's favorite DPS weapons before and after the weapons overhaul, many if no most of them would be purple or better giving the weapon a 10 to 15% rarity damage bonus over the same weapons before the overhaul. There was also a potential nominal increase in damage with the addition of the blue rarity bonus stats (I say nominal because the better ones were already available as white bonus stats on AR/LMG/SMGs with higher EGO ratings before, so the actual net bonuses for damage are the new white rarity bonus stats).

The main problem I have with Trick's explanation was that the weapons overhaul took place months before the Arkbreaker update which is when we started noticing that many mobs seemed to have been nerfed. If the increased damage from weapons was the source of this perception, we would have noticed it a much sooner than the release date of Arkbreaker.

The other problem I have with his explanation is that the perceived nerf was also based on observation of the combat AI before and after Arkbreaker regarding how accurate Volge gunfire was. That can't be explained by the weapons overhaul.

That story always smelled funny to me too. Especially when you can rock volge emergencies like a boss with whites that received no new buffs.

What I don't understand is when the Elite Volge Viscera, who is supposed to be the toughest of the open world Volge, goes into his own version of blur, all hits against him automatically crit. In PvP, blur makes players more difficult to hit, not easier. The Viscera blur is easy to dodge by rolling out of the way, so it's almost like a "kill me now" mode.

I always wondered if that was an accident or intentional. If your soloing them its kinda cool, reminds me of the old "Big Game Hunter" stories where you had to stand your ground when the Beast charged you.
