*DING DING DING* And, we have a winner!
I was eluding to this in an earlier post. It is the reason I mentioned how disappointed I would be if Trick doesn't take advantage of this "surprise issue" and really dig into the questions. In my opinion, with the extra time he'll have to work on the answers, I see no reason that we shouldn't have a nice long thread of very concise answers to nearly every question posed.
I await the disappointment....
No it wasn't. It predated Elizabeth's tenure in the position under a slightly different name (Senior Director, Global Communications) and was held by Katie Uhlman for over 2 years before Elizabeth was promoted to the position from Director of Community where she previously served for over a year and a half.
The community team itself did undergo significant staff reduction and restructuring when Elizabeth was promoted. CEO Scott Hartsman felt that having positions like a dedicated Community Manager for each game wasn't economically justifiable so Matt Everett (Defiance) and James Nichols (Rift) were laid off. I don't know how many from the PR side of the team were laid off but I don't think anybody would be surprised if there were cuts made on that side either. On top of that Elizabeth's prior responsibilities as Director of Community were apparently rolled upward into her new position as it appears she never really stopped handling the actual responsibilities of that job. Case in point:
It's not efficient. Normally that task would be given to now non-existent position of Director of Community. Since there was no Director of Community, the job had to either be assigned up or down in the community staff hierarchy. Since she would have been doing it otherwise as Community Director I guess she or the executive management felt that it should be assigned upward.
It really shouldn't be assigned long term to Cole because it's a PR and community relations responsibility and Cole is an associate video editor. I think the reasons he was tasked with it are because he's with the company, is comfortable in front of the camera and is a known and reliable asset for the same, but there are other factors that come into play for the long haul that really require a community team member to be one of the faces on the livestream sessions.

Well I saw morgana post that trick is going to get back to us on some of the questions just with no ETA unless I missed it?
These are just my opinions.
I have lots of opinions.
Some of them, on occasion, people have agreed with.
I do not trust those people.

So....any news on this? The top men get it fixed? We good to go for next week? You guys are just going to stop doing them all together? Are people being moved around to other departments and it is no longer financially sound to have community members doing the twitch feeds while answering questions? How soon is "soon"?
