    She did explain to me that the reason for the PMs was so the thread wouldn't just turn into a complaint thread. Most people don't actually know how to provide relevant troubleshooting details so they can actually run this down.

    On consoles, it's infinitely more difficult because you don't have "console" side logging in the same sense that you have "client" side logging on a PC. So they need specific time-frames to really hone in on what I would imagine is thousands of lines per minute of debug logging to sift through....

    Obviously, because I got the same PM from her. Long story short, I was a moderator for an independent video game forum in the past. Here's what I (personally) would've done:

    Create the thread
    Explain what the purpose of the thread is
    Ask forumites for the platform they're experiencing problems on, as well as their platform specific problems
    Delete any flame/off topic posts

    Not too difficult, and easier than sending mass PMs.
