Question about scoring, please and thanks

I took a break from the game since the end of December - on ps3, way too tired of the disconnects, etc. (I take a break every month or so because of it, hoping it will have changed when I return) - and just played tonight for the first time since then.

I noticed that, as it was back in the beginning of December, the servers are still empty. I waited at a seige for 15 minute then finally opened it up and one person came along during it. I went to several arkfalls, minor and major. Just no one around. Has this ever changed for ps3, NA, since Dec?

The other thing was the scoring changes in the seige. Because I was alone, and then with one person, and the seige we were at had 3 and 4 simultaneous groups of 5 and 6 volge, we died a lot. Our scores were deducted down an extreme amount.

I came looking for official information but I haven't been able to find any. I found a thread by arsenic but that seemed to be from some test server and there was mention of a bleed from the DLC.

So my question, besides the occupancy one: is there something official I can read about how the scoring is supposed to work now and if there is any plans to change it?

I'm certainly not liking it. The only thing that made the empty server any fun was actually getting all the kills at seiges and therefore getting a good score for the chance at best equipment without it being a competition. So I'm looking for any information, likely to decide whether or not to pack it in for good.

I like the new Score-system, and will explain why with Volge Sieges as example.

In the old system you needed 40k points to get that Tier 10-rewardbox with a possible Legendary. And if you just started playing again you probably noticed that 40k in purely a Siege became almost impossible, score doesnt count up like the way it used to be. But be reassurred, they also dropped the Tier 10-limit from 40k to 20k. Scoring 20k during a Siege only is still challenging, certainly with the new Death Tax being introduced. If youre being downed you'll receive a 1000 point penalty, immediately being extracted from your score. If you have to extract you'll receive a 2000 points penalty. Altho it failed on its purpose to make the game more social, people still wont revive you. Certainly not when you are in a bad spot and its risky for them to revive you. This penalty does force players to play smarter, and not play like wild kamikaze-pilots cause the penalty for dying was only 180 scrip.

Now the best thing! Some Sieges are just the finales of an Incursion (Marin and SF). And every emergency you visit and shoot at WILL be counted as scores! I did Sieges/Incursions where i ended with 100k+ on the leaderboard. Simply cause i ran along with all the emergencies up front. Started the endsiege with a 'safe' 50k score, already enough for my Tier 10-box.

So, although the new score-system is not flawless, its definitely an improvement. It rewards players that actually take action in the whole event, and punishes players that die a lot! Just like other games, and just like it should be!

To do really good i'd recommend using weapons with a large magazine, high firerate, decent damage. It's all about damage output! Ah yeah, and use a Nano-weapon. Using Nano-elements gives you a bonus!

I wont go in to the point system but I will say the shards seem all kind of messed up. I keep getting in to solo shards or shards with a few people if im lucky. I hope this gets fixed soon....I like to play solo but also enjoy seeing other purple dots now and then

I watched a video on Youtube from last week, it explains the new scoring. Search Defiance game DLC4. It is 13:45, or something. It's Trick playing and he explains the new scoring. As for the Lonely Server on PS3, still happening so it makes scoring harder now like teamwork. Look under Social in your Radial Menu and jump to a friend in another phase.
