What platform are you on? I think there are server problems lately that might be affecting your gameplay too.

I'm assuming you're on PS3, as your posting in the trade section.
Yes there are ppl playing. The issue is the shard system for the game is currently gone awonk. The best ways to beat this and find other players are:
1. If you have friends or are in a clan, check your friends list in the radial menu. Those that are red are in a different "phase" than you. If there are more "reds" than "greens", this indicated you're on the "lonely shard". Port to one that is in the red. If you haven't built your friends list yet, or joined a clan. Do so! There are plenty of active clans, just check the clan sub-forum.
2. Doing a co-op, shadow war, or Warmaster will generally spit you out in a populated shard upon completion.
3. I have heard dashboarding a few times helps. I have not been able to confirm this yet.
