Keybinds not saving

I have sent in 8 tickets on this since launch.....o response.....sent a PM to Sledge.....NO response......I even mentioned this in testing countless times. I am a paying customer now. This does not sit well for my reputation points with you. My vendor will be closing soon.

there maybe if I speak in game terms You might understand I would like this addressed.

I've the same issue...

This bug was reported a lot of time by beta-testers... alpha-testers... one time, two time, three time...

Shouldn't be hard to fix or take a long time. Put _1_ guy on it or something!

I also submitted a bug report maybe 2 days ago but this is one thing that testing can't possibly miss so I was just hoping a quick fix and bit my tongue.

I really hate doing partial rebinds on every login and since dying has a penalty in the game (not a big one though) and leaving your char lying around just anywhere isn't an option so you need to log out every now and then. Trion has been fixing the game at a pretty nice pace but seriously the game is overall in a state where I would expect an early beta to be if the good stability is put aside.

There's about a trillion bugs, glitches and overall polishing neeeds lingering about, but the keybind issue should not be a problem to fix like.. now.

I had the problem of keybinds partially resetting for the two months of Alpha I played but it went away when I used the last beta client (though I see others had it then.) Now I have it again for release (I removed both clients and all things Defiance related before downloading the release client.) I honestly can't remember the last game I played that didn't save keybindings. I can understand and put up with numerous bugs, but this one is just awful, especially to have been going on and getting reported for months.

I went AFK while I was checking some info on the internet.

When I returned, I got a message about the connection having timed out and was back at the character loading screen.
When my character failed to respond to keypresses, I checked the keybinds and found a small number of them had been reset.

That's a new version of this bug.


Seriously, Trion, you're not making a good impression here.

The game is just out and the most frustrating issue has not been acknowledged, nor a patchfix announced?


I've put up with this kind of behavior from Cryptic Devs for over a year or more, I really didn't want to come to another mmo and experience it again.

And by "put up", I mean remind them time and again to fix the bug, only to be ignored.

Still no fix for key bindings? WOW. I'm sure you guys at Trion are trying your best to take care of "priority" issues first, but damn, no answer and no fix since beta?
