Weapon Level

So what benefit is it when you max out a weapons level example i got an assault rifle to 757650/757650

My understanding is that you cannot advance in that type of weapon anymore until you equip a new weapon of that type.

if that is the case, that kind of sucks =( i was hoping it would be something better, like a weapon mastery damage boost or something

I think the weapon gets a boost when you max it; some extra effect added to it like reload speed, etc., but I can't remember for sure.

It's supposed to be a bug that your weapon skill stops advancing when the weapon reaches max. Very annoying if you find a nice weapon and have to put it aside for something lesser to keep advancing your skill.
