Clan search function?

Is there a way in-game to search for a specific clan to join? There doesn't seem to be. And if there isn't, why hasn't this function been added yet?

Clans are by *invitation*, are they not? If that is the case, why would they insert the ability to try to automatically add yourself to something you cannot choose to add yourself to?
