Social aspects of the game

I hope some of the Devs are reading this because I have to say the social aspects of this game are seriously lacking. For a MMO especially on PC to lack even the function to whisper players on your friends list,that is just pitiful. This game has really got to step up its social functionality if it intends to lure and keep any players from the MMO community. MMOers are accustomed to making and communicating with their friends and comrads on a much deeper level than this game allows so far. There is very little if any chat going on and what does get said is mostly not even noticed because the chat window is usually hidden from view. Trion really must take some ques from there Rift devs in this regard as Rift is IMHO a much more sociable experience. I hope this gets some attention because in most all other regards this game is a blast it would just be that much more fun if I could communicate with my friends.

I agree. Also, turn off the freaking in game Voice Chat. It is horrible. Sounds like that scene in Species when the chick is all pumpkinhead and trying to communicate.

totally agree. granted im on console so id still probably have to use my pc to commincate with my dudes anyway.

we have have laptops to keep close at hand so will likely just set up an enjin site or something.

I'm not sure I'd say it's lacking, I'd say it's more like it isn't even there in the first place. The chat box is so useless that unless you're really paying attention it's even pretty easy to miss the server restart messages they've sent out.

I think I've only seen people talk two or three times, and even then it was just a comment and there was no discussion afterward. I'm not even a particularly social person (and I refuse to use voice chat), but the complete lack of chat in the game is kind of ridiculous.

I'm glad to see I'm not alone in my view that this games lack of really general chat functions is gonna hurt it in the not too distant future. Without this very basic MMO feature those of us that enjoy playing games with our friends are gonna move on. No matter how enjoyable the combat may be.

Who needs chat guys? You're just supposed to buy lockers and inventory space then log off.
