Not got to this fight yet, but reading this thread has me looking forward to it. I like games with hard fights. Too many games go too easy on people. We need more demon/dark Souls type games.

I'm going to try that hiding under the boss thing. But here's the other pain... notice I don't have to revive once... then he hits me with a grenade, and I don't even get a revive chance. Day 2 now.... I'll let you know after day 3 how it went. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qhS2...ature=youtu.be
Is it just me, or did everyone not get any loot after killing this guy? Truly disappointing.
It puts the lotion on its skin...
Lol... This fight was incredibly easy, at first I was like, "Hmm, now how am I going to get the tanks on the little guys", Then I looked at what I could jump on, and surprise surprise it was everything... I simply stood on the top of the barrels right near where you fall down, the flame guys just kinda ran up to me, stood there, I simply aimed down, popped their smelter tank once, and bam, game over.
This boss fight was ridiculously easy. When he tried spamming nades at me when he finally fell down, I just ran near him, and unloaded with my LMG, most of the time he tried to melee me which of course missed every single time, while I ran circles literally, around him, and killed him within 3 mins.
While on the barrels, the AI didn't even attempt shooting at me either, I felt rather disappointed in this battle. Anyone who finds this battle difficult, should learn how to use cover, crates, and well, pretty much everything to their advantage. This battle is literally won in no more then 15 mins. Majority of the time should be spent trying to break through his shield, waiting for the stupid Smelters.
Anyways, just how I did it, and how much time it took me. Didn't even die. I was hoping he'd use some type of miner drill on me or something.
Well, thanks to Yoko1337 for his tip. It worked, first try. Here's the full walkthrough for Jackleg Joe (boss part is last 1/4).
I think I'll also post this in the gameplay forum. Thanks Yoko!

This method worked for me. I used an assault rifle for the entire fight.
(1) First, the boxes in the far left corner will be your home. In the first part, shoot between the beam and boxes to clear out the 99ers. (2) This is the hard part. Once the cut scene comes, run back to your home. Stand on top of the far left corner of the boxes and do not shoot the 99ers. They will largely focus on your partner. Next, the firebreathers will come after you and 9 times out of 10, just stand there and not shoot flames at you. Shoot their pack and then line up to shoot the boss. He's only unshielded for about 5s. There are a few times that the boss or 99ers will shoot at you a little, just hop down off the boxes and be ready to mow down the firebreather and wait for the next one. (3) Finally, once the boss jumps down, hit him hard and then duck behind the boxes. When I did this he largely focused on my partner, aside from when I emptied a clip in him, and then just to shoot those grenades at me.
The fight is cheap and so is the strategy. This was my least favorite encounter so far.
Melee fire dudes, they fall down, shoot their backs once to set their tanks on fire.
They run in and blow up the bosses shield, shoot the boss like made.
Repeat a couple times.
Boss jumps down, acts like the big 99er who lobs grenades.
You can "outsmart" the AI by just hiding behind boxes. If he runs to you, just keep running.
You'll get him eventually.
To help those that are having trouble.
The dudes with the flame throwers are like the raiders with shields and become vulnerable when punched in the face. Except instead of stumbling back and droping there shield they fall flat on there face with there tanks in the air so punch them then shoot them once they will get up and run strait into the furnace its the fast easy way to get this instance done.
As soon as they spawn charge them punch em then while they lay on the ground shoot the canister they will get up and have a short run to the furnace.
If this was mentioned already sorry didn't read through it all just read some people were having trouble

I will be trying this tonight, thanks for the tips! I have only tried to do this a few times, but my strategies was not working. I was able to figure out however if you chill out on the left side of the map, like Dericho says in the first part, Jackleg Joe won't attack me.
