I was more or less referring to your starting weapon. I had a much easier time with an LMG or an AR, than I did with a shotgun. Simply because the shotguns in this game suck. Period.
Also, just because it's an mmo (even though none of the devs actually call it that) doesn't mean you *have* to play missions with other people. Sometimes my friends aren't available, and I don't really like playing with randoms, so I do a few missions by myself. There's playing tactical, and there's being forced to play like a coward with limited ammo. I love ducking behind cover, checking to see when enemies reload, those kinds of things. But if I can't even take out a few enemies without my shield almost completely depleting, then we have a problem. The shield's suck too. The Cleaver's have the worst hit detection I've ever seen, Elites take waaay too much damage. But the game is still fun, and sometimes the difficulty is spot on. However, sometimes the game just scales because there are players in the nearby area, they don't even have to be helping you. This is why it feels so much different from the beta, because usually it was just my friends and I. I'm loving the game, there just seems to be some odd difficulty spikes, and mobs being spawned too quickly. Did anyone else have trouble with We're On the Air? Seems to be the worst offender so far.
