I am also having an issue with flickering. For me it is only occuring when I open a vendor. The menu flickers like crazy! I think I'm the first person in the thread with an Nvidia card having this issue (GTX 570 SC). The rest of my specs are Windows 8 x64, 16GB RAM, Intel I5 2500K Processor.

While waiting for an issue I am having with this game on my main gaming desktop to be resolved, I downloaded Defiance on my laptop , which has an AMD Radeon 6850 and it also has a flickering issue when viewing the menus. The laptop is Windows 8 x64

I'm also experiencing this on my desktop and laptop, both of which have HD Radeon cards. I also created a post last night. http://forums.defiance.com/showthrea...ghlight=strobe

I searched for flashing, not flickering evidently, and went with a strobe light effect in my description... lol.

I've never been bothered by flashing lights before, but the character select one makes me nauseous, and the rest of them make me feel a bit queasy as well.

I have never experienced this issue (but I do have others) and am using a Sapphire HD5870 2GB card with Catalyst 12.8 drivers (just the drivers - not Catalyst Control Center installed).

Here are some questions and suggestions.
    • Is anything "Forced" in the control settings (e.g. Antialiasing).
Try setting all to "Application controlled".
    • Have you overclocked your graphics card?
Try running it at default speed (or even underclocked) to see if this has any affect.
    • Do you have ATI Catalyst Control Center (or nVidea Control Center) installed?
Set everything to default, uninstall then try a driver-only install (perhaps with an earlier version).

Having the same issue with a 7770 using the 13.1 catalyst drivers. I can't even load the game as it flickers with a white box in the background and on top of that..the only way to get it to stop is restart my pc.

Ran a validity check through steam and it had one file that didn't pass. Now, apparently I'm redling the entire game..how nice. Well guess we'll see if this works.
