I wouldn't call the 5.7x28 a rifle round. Its too small to make it a proper full size rifle bullet and not enough powder behind it to take it to longer ranges . Even the 5.56x45 isn't really a true full size rifle round (I think the P556 Pistol mentioned fires it), its a sub caliber rifle round that was made to be lighter so you could carry more and smaller to increase penetration. The MP7 and P90 are NOT sub machine guns, there personal defense weapons (PDW) which is a compact semi-automatic or fully automatic firearm (the P556 Pistol fits in there fairly well) similar to a submachine gun, but firing a smaller sub caliber rifle round, giving a PDW better range, accuracy and armor-penetrating capability than submachine guns, which fire pistol caliber rounds. They all have there place. .45ACP has really good stopping power but less pen. then the 9mm and a lot less then the PDW's.
