The steam season pass says there will be 1 additional race that will be playable tho. No clue if there will be more

no not avatar. it just look at all the different aliens that have immigrated to the earth in the TV commercials and even in the game itself.

I think the reason for less playable races is the fact that most of the aliens are the "bad" guys and it wouldn't make sense within the story to play as them in the role you play in the game. Of course I don't know for sure so I'm just randomly guessing to try to explain it.

If nothing else it gives them room for later expansions. As long as they keep providing new headgear and outfits I doubt I'll even be paying attention to what race my guy is. It's not like other MMOs where the race changes base stats.
