Hellion is completely ridiculous.

I can't even begin to explain to you how annoying it is to do 4-5 arkfalls (I don't know the exact amount) just to fight the Hellion and not have any means of ammunition to kill it. You really need to try and fight that thing if you don't know what I'm talking about. It's insane. Things go smoothly for the first few minutes (If you want to call 40 people running around and messed up audio smooth) and then everyone just runs out of ammo. You have monarchs, archers and warriors running around killing everyone while you can only fight back with a melee attack. It's so obnoxious. You die, you pay to resurrect, you finally get ammo, you go back to the Hellion, then you waste your ammo away and die just like you did last time. This could seriously be fixed if Hellbugs dropped ammo (I know that makes no sense) or if there was a nearby ammo supply at the arkfall, you know, one that's close so you don't have to jump into a vehicle and drive somewhere to go get some ammo. I know I'm being hard on a game that just officially released today, but still.

Currently playing with 5 other clan members I can safely say I disagree with all of this, on our way to the Hellion battle everyone will keep their eyes out for a decently placed ammo box, if we haven't found one, one of our players will simply scout one out and let the others know where it is.

From then on, if you need anything more than 10-15 seconds out of the fight to get ammo and get back in, and your self-rez you are doing something brutally wrong, the monsters are incredibly easy to predict and therefore dodge...

This was an annoyance in the beta but the hellbugs do drop ammo. It's just really uncommon and many players requested that it be fixed during the beta.

I don't believe in having to physically leave a boss fight to go travel and find ammo that definitely does not only take 10-15 seconds to retrieve. And you're right, the mechanics are quite easy on this game, but that is aside from the point. No one wants to have to leave a huge battle to go get ammo, and no one wants to run around like an idiot with no ammo using their melee attack doing no damage on Hellbugs.

My mistake on saying no hellbugs drop ammo, I hadn't really looked into that, but they practically never do. However, now that you mention it, I do recall getting 28 bullets from a Hellbug during a Hellion fight. hmph

The scavenger perk from arkfall codes seems to help.

Aside from that, pick your shots. Don't waste time killing anything other than Monarchs and the Hellion itself. The Hellion doesn't proceed between phases until the Monarchs are dead.

Although, if those annoying ground tentacle things are bombing the crap out of everything feel free to contribute taking those out. Same with archer hellbugs. You don't need wait to maximize your damage output by aiming at weakpoints - just shoot 'em.

Also make sure you have at least two loadouts with four guns that all use unique ammo. If you have a third loadout available, even better since you'd have six ammo types but it's not necessary. ONE loadout would be a nightmare, but you get two fairly early.

maybe if you balance between shooting hellbugs and the hellion you'll have enough ammo for the rest of the fight.
Also tell the dudes/dudettes in their cars to stop crushing the hellbugs, they don't drop ammo if you kill with a car.

I dunno about you guys, but since I got the scavenger perk maxed and the other perk that increases chance for drops was maxed, I'm almost always never short of ammo for my LMG. Of course if it happens, I switch to an infector which seems to do a lot better against hellbugs when the infector bugs spawn.

You can easily visit one of the ammo boxes during these fights... I've been able to take on hordes of hell bugs by myself while taking out crystals with no problem by simply dodging them all. If you continuously die like that, You're just bad.
