SweetFx bannable or safe?

relevance? game is new, balance being a bit out of whack is understandable, and defiance has a much better premise for a balanced pvp then most mmos.

point is hackers are least of concerns with current state of game issues as they are.

I posted their response Ive received the same one myself don't expect anything different from them except a negative response for spamming them about it.

Also this thread was dead for awhile someone must have necroed it. The Sweetfx assistance thread is now an official support thread in the support forums moved there by a CM so people who need help using sweetfx can. They didn't delete it if anything this shows their ok with it. If being banned bothers you don't use the program that simple.

I have asked CS about whether the use of Sweetfx and RadeonPro can get your account suspended, they replied saying that whilst they could not specifically say which programs were allowed or not, they confirmed that they found no programs that would cause any problems on my PC. I was using SweetFX and RadeonPro at the time. Read into that what you will.

IMO, we'll NEVER get an official statement from Trion about the use of SweetFX or any other 3rd Party program. With what SweetFX does today, it isn't game altering so no ban. What if, however, some one changes it in the future to show all stealthers? That is an example of a game altering change and THAT would become bannable. If Trion were to endorse the use of SFX today and then it gets altered they would be in a bind. So, no endorsement will be coming.

Use it or don't use it, but stop asking for an endorsement. I have it installed in my Defiance dir.

Exactly. Imagine what would happen if half of the player base started using it and they had approved it, but later someone would make a hack that mimics it and is indistinguishable from it.

However, it cannot be used to make stealthed players visible, because your game client does not even know that they're there. And even if it did, they could not be revealed by a simple DX9 injection.

I got banned yesterday(i hadnt been on for atleast a day) for the use of illegal 3rd party programs that gave me an unfair advantage. The only 3rd party program ive been using is RadeonPro and the sweetFX that follows the bundle. Now the issue has been resolved and my ban has been lifted after i wrote back and appealed.. Trion was actually a joy in this matter.

My guess is that SweetFX can trip over their anti cheat wires and call for a false positive.

We have an official response i posted it yesterday.

This is what I got back from a GM about SweetFX and using it.

"Thanks for the inquiry.

I apologize, but we are unable to provide you with an official response regarding the types of programs for which we monitor. This would be a severe violation of our policy, which is why I am addressing this communication personally.

Again, thanks for your inquiry, but we are unable to accommodate your request at this time."

this was from the lead GM.

That's from the lead GM at this point bugging them helps no one as that is their "official response"
Wouldn't be surprised if they make bugging them about third party programs bannable before anything else at this point.
That's the answer from the top brass on the subject stop harassing them about it if you don't like their answer don't use sweetfx that simple.. So they cant provide an "Official response is their "Official response"
