    Unintentional griefing is a bit of an oxymoron. Let's just call it what it is, bad results from bad game design. This is what happens when you have the majority of your content in the open world and don't level gate content by zone. These are very unconventional content scaling mechanics so players are simply not going to be used to them and many are not going to like them.

    @ShadowPlauge - It is essentially a new game now and you're going to have to take a completely different approach to events when you see higher tiered mobs there. Read the Arktech Revolution launch article to learn the names of the the different tiers for scaled enemies and conduct yourself accordingly. Basically you are going to have to be much more defensive. Fortitude, Regeneration, Cellular Armor and Thick Skinned, and heal stims are now extremely important considerations for your loadout. Also consider keeping a Syphon weapon in your loadout. They now constantly leech to restore your shields and health. Your damage will be nerfed but your survivability will increase and the Opportunist and Teamwork points, although now capped, should keep your score decent.

    Rise up peoples, rise up. I think we should all start new characters and have a taste of the pain. Don't blame the little guy, there needs to be a unified voice screaming for balance.

    The low EGO rating players aren't the ones you need to worry about. It's the higher EGO rating players that are going to continue to conduct themselves in the same point whoring manner as they did before. They are going to scale the Warmaster up much more than any low EGO rating player and be even more deadweight than ever as they spam BMG's, infectors or whatever weapon they feel like leveling with complete disregard to all the players there that are trying to get Legendary Arkbreaker weapons. In that regard as far as "$ph!ncter factor" goes, to paraphrase a certain movie character, I could probably shove a lump of coal in there and in two weeks pull out a diamond.

    Since I'm not all that good at this game (in spite of playing it a LOT), I'm pretty sure I'll end up griefing myself - my own 5K worst enemy.

    See, this is part of why I'm taking a 2-week break. I can't buy the DLC for 2 weeks, therefore won't have access to those armour plates I'll be needing. Right? Anyway even if I'm wrong about that I don't want to work for nothing. If I'm unable to earn arkforge, the point is moot. I'm pouting.

    Is this confirmed? I know it was that way when I was on the test server but given that the launch window message said that it may be subject to change when it goes live I was hoping that they would drop better loot as promised.

    Well, this is one of the major concepts Defiance was built upon, for better or worse. They wanted to make it easy for everyone to play together, but...you can't have your cake and eat it too. Catering to unskilled/casual players should never be your design goal. Finding ways to help players get better over time is the key. I would have loved level gated content, seriously. But the scaling is kind of a compromise, they are still allowing players to play together, but also trying to keep it challenging for high level players.

    Again though, cake.

    To help relieve the sting of dying this could be done.....
    1. When in a arkbreaker arkfall you don't lose your score for dying
    2. No scrip cost to extract

    The game will still be hard, but if some one feels as though they need to "grief", you wont come out sooooooooo far behind
