My three go to weapons used up all my arkforge to update to my ego, which I moved from 5000 to 5231 (Received no ego points). A few of my other favorite weapons are now below 4000 ego and I don't want to think about the amount of grinding to try and amass the arkforge needed to update these weapons, so I'm currently playing like I've started a new character and just using what I pick up, so twelve months support of this game has been thrown in my face.
I enjoyed helping lower ego players, which I cannot do any longer. I cannot help new lower ego clan mates. I cant move weapons to another low level character without doing some complete mess around with other players ( um can you hold on to a bunch of legendary weapons while I log out, swap characters, jump back to you and hand them over, by the way I have 30 so we'll have to go through this at least three times) FUN <--- more sarcasm.
So I have come to the conclusion
1. The dev's of this game are trying actively to poison the waters to reach a low threshold and shut the game down
2. Remove Legendary weapons and a sense of accomplishment along the way
3. Trying to squeeze money out of those with larger wallets to test viability of Free 2 Play/Pay 2 Win for arkforge from the bit store
4. Reinforce the notion that they have ignored the things that I, and potentially many others would like:
a. Map expansion
b. More missions ( I mean if there is a side mission to retrieve a six pack of beer what is stopping the dev team from adding more missions.... really?)
c. More use of the current landscape (instead of currently everything packed along the road)
d. Random generated bunkers, there are unused entrances dotted around the map already
e. New playable race, like the Sensoth, Liberata or Indogene
f. Not have this massive grind for anything, I agree that some playing is required for achievements, but the grind required just keeps staking, 5k kills for pistol, bolt action sniper etc etc etc. 10 cores for a legendary mod. This wouldn't be so bad if there was more varied content to reach these goals, but doing the same things over and over again is.... DULL.
Here's how I would have handled threat progression:
Each enemy has a certain threat limitations, depending on where they are located. Mount Tam would be the lowest. San Francisco, the highest. In certain areas it would be impossible for any enemy to reach threat level ten, like near Earth Republic Camp or random spawns outside fast travel destinations.
Conflict sites are more dangerous, but that does not mean every enemy has the same threat level. Under most circumstances, standard enemies would typically be a couple levels lower than the boss. Some standard enemies might be apex/ark/formidable levels, but not every single one. Apex/ark/formidable enemies would be treated like Borderlands' Badasses.
Sieges, Arkfalls and Incursions have the potential for the highest threat levels, but the enemies would still be of different strengths.
