I would say yes. We know that Castithan, Indogene and Irathient made up most the population on the arks, with most Indogene dying aboard when they blew up. When the war started, i guess many on Earth were hunted by humans and killed out of fear.

I would say their population on the ship(s) exceeded Earth's population, but most of them died when the ship(s) blew up. At that time, their were only a few colonies of Votan. So we outnumbered them then. From that point, it's entirely guess work. How much has the Votan population grown since then? We can't be sure without more biological information on the Votan species. What are their reproduction rates? On the flip side, I'm sure a lot of the Human population died as a result of the terraforming.

If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say the Humans outnumber the Votan, but not by much.

Having said all of that, it's not really important. The main theme of the show/game is working together. The war is over. The terraforming has slowed or stopped. Now the Humans and Votan are both trying to survive a world that is foreign to them.

I have no real clue as regards the whole earth, but if we just look at the San Francisco Bay Area, I would say more humans by far.

I would say, that player statistics would settle this once and for all. If we knew who everybody picked then it would be within fingers grasp to know this, and other 'fun' information.

Defiance might be a bigger mix or Votan/human, as they have taken the Defiance movement to heart as it were. It was initially Irathient farmers settled the area after the terraforming messed it up, and others moved in from there.

While I don't have any numbers, from what has been mentioned thus far, Irathient seem to currently be the most populous Votan as they have taken to the new world like ducks to water. Castithan it would appear are the next most populous as they seem to have had a large number of seats on the Arks. Indogene lost an inordinate number of their species in the Arkfall, as most of them were on the Arks being all scientific and stuff. Sensoth & Liberata would appear to be in the middle there. Probably more to do with budgetary constraints. Though how they would compare with humans is unknown.

Population in Defiance is 60% human. But it's a REALLY mixed town. So we can't assume that they're similar.

The majority of the Votan populace was in orbit when it all went off. The Indogen were a pretty signifigant population, only mostly in orbit at the time of the ark fall.

There were also only a few couple hundred mile wide colonies set up initially before the war broke out, and somehow I doubt the Votans managed to significantly push into other areas except with major military forces (which is probably why Irathient make up so much of the population for them atm. They're all warrior race archetype after all)

I would say there would be an average population of Humans and Votans

I'm going to go with there being more humans than Votan (and more Casthians/Irathients than other Votan), but that the total population of 2046 Earth is greatly reduced compared to 2013 Earth.

No kidding. Personally, I think more Votans would've survived the Pale Wars than humans, but the ark explosions might have changed that...
