Any form of chat!?

OK, I love this game. It has it's flaws. I have been playing for several months as a tester. The core gameplay is solid, and the game is tons of fun. There is one GLARING issue. I know this has come up a ton already, but i feel like we really need to nail this home to Trion. Chat. There really is none. Chat disappears seconds after you type, there is no persistence to the window whatsoever. I can't change position, size, or opacity. This is a giant open, social experience, with no good way to communicate with others. So you hop in a co-op map, or some pvp, and think, oh, here is voice chat. Man am I glad I have a vent server. If you leave in-game voice chat enabled, particularly in pvp, it makes the game almost unplayable. It is virtually impossible to understand a single thing anyone says, and the scratches and echoes override any existing sound in game. I can't believe it launched with this feature at all, as it is laughable.

Anyway, now that that's out....Trion, I know you guys will fix things. Your devs are some of the best in the industry, and I look forward to the content coming down the road. Your game is fantastic and tons of fun. Please fix the broken bits.

Ya the chat interface does need work, it seems like no one really uses it either. It is hard to even notice in game messages the way it is now.

I don't get why this is so hard for them to change. I mean I can't even figure out why they would do it that way to begin with? Has none of their staff ever played an MMO or online game, I can't think of anyone who would prefer it as they have it. I mean even if you don't really chat much most people still generally like to see the conversations that go on or the questions that are asked. Not having a decent chat in an online game is just silly. Hell the chat in Ghost Recon Online is better than this...

I know, like when the server just went down I never even saw the message, game just cut out.

it be fix someday. dc universe online had same problem because they made it mmorpg for console

Yeh, a lot of people are complaining about the chatting system. There was supposedly an announcement about server downtime 9;15 - 9:30 AM PST but I didn't see it because well... it was in the chat.

The problem that i've had with the chat system is when you mute your microphone it dosen't allow you to use text chat. Clan chat dosn't work either. i DONT know why but yea chat system is really bugged. But im sure they will fix it

The only two complaints I truly have about this game is the Chat system which is godawful and the UI which is a terrible TERRIBLE console port and extremely badly optimized for PC...

Oh yeah, there is a third and that is the Arkfall loot which is damn near useless.

Yeah but the arkfall loot thing is a balance/game mechanic issue, which will be fixed along the way too. I still think the arkfalls are a lot of fun to do, even if you just get some keys and the occasional green shield or grenades. The chat however, there is nothing fun about that lol.
