It's not like that at all. I dunno if you know this, but if you buy something at a store and it's on sale the next week, you can sometimes bring in your receipt and they'll refund you the difference.
A game going from $60 to $10 in a couple months is a huge drop. You don't think we had a right to be upset? And if I recall correctly Trion did say they were looking at a way to make it up to the early adopters on multiple occasions, but nothing ever came of it.
Don't get me wrong. I think the game going free to play is great, and think the veteran awards are a decent value. People who bought the game recently are still getting their money's worth, since new players start with less of everything and will have to purchase additional spaces. Plus the 30 Day Patron Pass is a nice gift. Since it's valued at 800 bits, that's $10 in value right there.
But yeah, a lot of us did overpay for the game when it came out, and it would have been nice if Trion made it up to us then, even though they are in no way obligated to.
BOW TO THE WARMASTERSWE JUST GOT TIRED OF DOIN' WHAT YA TOLD US TO DO
this is not the same, because we paid is not only the game, also a permanent contract about the right to play in a stabilizing server with paid player only until they close the game server.(that's why trial players all in a different server to other paid players)
And at now trion still can't provide a stabilizing server to all the paid gamer, and they want to open it to those free player for more profit, and the server will go stable itself? only worest.
So it is not only sell/buy/discount problem, it's more like a "Breach of contract" situation, which could lead to not only refund, also could lead to a penalty charge.
Iv got the game at $60+ then I had no choice but to get the down load to get away from the cd when my system locks ups.
im glad to support the game its still a great game friends, family, clan mates but part of me feel used for what trion wants to give back,
bits would have been nice to have after all iv gave to them.
Give us a day out of a year celebrate veteran day on the game promote it in gamer make some of us feel honored for sticking around an support you trion you have something for the fallen one lighting them an watching fly away witch was nice

@cary2010haha
No you bought the game and what you got from it is access to TRION server to play that game. This has not changed and will not change even after the F2P so no breach of contract there.

I agree 100% and once the Free Players get a taste of this CRACK, like I did....they will defenitley spend money on a disc and @ the in-game store...But I just hope with the FLOOD of New Players, TRION ADDS SOME SERVERS AND MICROSOFT HELPS...Because it is gonna be like BLACK FRIDAY...!!!

I think there's a big difference between expecting reimbursement a week after you paid full price for something, and expecting reimbursement a year later.
Odds are if you bought the game a week prior to it going free to play, you only spent 5-10 dollars for it rather than 60. And considering they're announcing that it's going free to play well ahead of time, it's no ones fault but your own if you spent the money (though it's possible some are doing just that to get the bonus that box owners will get).
If the game went free to play IMMEDIATELY (or even relatively soon)after it came out at full price, I could sort of buy your arguement more.
