Sometimes I dutifully hammer away at the armor (high DPS WM loadout here...). Sometimes I say "screw it" and switch to weapon leveling.
I used to just leave the map. It was a waste of my time as there are far more productive ways to spend it in the game. I've pretty much stopped doing them all together now.

I was just thinking about it and another way to communicate to new players to wait to break the locks would be to put it on a tip screen that is programmed to always show up when entering a major arkbreak. Something like

    Warmaster
This Volge is incredibly tough with heavy armor covering most of his body with weak points on his arms and back. He is too much for a solitary arkhunter to handle alone and should only be challenged in large groups.

I can't get enough people to even attempt the Warmaster on PS3 NA and when I finally get to one where there are enough.....wait for it.......CRITICAL TIME OUT.

They'd need to put a time delay on it as well in case fewer than 25 people show up.

The Warmaster right now is doable. We beat him last night (with 26 people inside) but we beat him nonetheless. So I don't agree on nerfing him more than it is right now. The problem with the noobs could be simply solved by changing The Ego's message. It rushes them to break the locks. If the message is changed and tells them to wait until there's a certain amount of people, that would change the whole scenario completely. It also would help us identify very easily who the Griefers are.

1000 is the new 400. That's my current stance. I usually inspect and see if they are new. I've found countless new people who don't even have Group Chat enabled to see the comments. We resorted to sending XBL messages, explaining why they are being told to stop, the minimum needed (based on current EGO) and that Group/Team chat is important. No one tells people this. I've had them say they didn't know since the EGO says to crack the locks and they didn't know about the chat tabs. Most people who come to the forum aren't going to be the problem. It's the ones who do not have anyone to explain the different aspects of the game.

I am totally for a minimum as well as them changing the prompt once you drop.

I agree with everyone here. I even started a conversation about this a few days ago...

    http://forums.defiance.com/showthrea...ut-June-4th...

But to add something to this one, I've been making every attempt to instruct people on what to do. I'm sure the PC NA people are getting pretty tired of me doing it, too... lol

The trouble is only a couple of people actually listen to reason concerning the fight.

We need someone in an official capacity to come in here and join this discussion. I know they play the game, they have to know how this WM thing is very, very frustrating... especially because many of us paid real money for the rights to use gear we have *very* little chance of ever seeing. As was suggested by a few people already, once the game goes F2P, and we have the ability to upgrade rarity of gear, there will be next to no reason to even try beating the WM anymore.

I like many of the ideas Trion comes up with. However, most of them seem quite undercooked. This is total speculation on my part, but it feels like there's not enough discussion about cause and effect going on over there.

I usually leave the map when the locks are broken early, but I am curious as to whether the locks could be given an obscene regen that could only be overcome by the focus fire of 20+ players? I'm relatively new, so I dunno if this has ever been discussed.

the last 4 Warmasters I was in, it went like this.. The first 2 of the 4 the call was to go for the arm .. , my first, always wanted to do the arm, I found it tougher for me, may be due that I have always done the back .. We were not even close, the last 2 the call was the back, those last 2 times , I for the first time got to see the HP go down, (BTW this isn’t about targeting the back or arm, that’s just how it happened) ) if we had another minute on the timer there might had been a chance.
Not long ago I wrote that 3 of us, took out the WM’s armor and Shields, but just did not have enough to work on the HP, the WM’s Shields always came back and fast as soon as we were one less person doing damage, from that experience , I can see a well grouped of players knowing what they’re doing, could take out the WM, 8 being that number, I want to say 6 but would believe 8 can.

Premature lock breaking will be a larger problem once F2P goes live, it’s a problem already, but I believe it’s mostly griefers . For those not just adding grief and are actually unaware, a pop warning once you start shooting the locks , might help get the message to those that just listen to their EGO

most of those that I see using SG’s and Rockets, Volge wep. and what ever else that is not very useful to help defeating the WM, are players 4k plus. I would think by now they would know what works best.
From what I have seen, . . . it has been only around 6-8 players that are actually set up for the Warmaster.
I really don’t like waiting when there is just that many prepared for the warmaster, and being asked to wait to get 4-6 more players that are not going to help, and just add more clutter on the ground crawling. I do wait, there is a chance that, the 4-6 more players know what to do

see if I did this right

    TLDR

    ● add a 1 minute to the timer
    ● a pop-up warning , stating there needs to be raid size grouping, when you shoot the locks
