the arm is the way its done because nobody will bother trying the back as a group. the right arm can only be hit from the right side, so any player on the left is hindering progress. the back can be hit from the left, right, or behind the WM. the right arm is highly favored when WM is on the wall, but that usually only makes up 25-30% of the whole fight. the WM spends most of his time on the ground, and the back is a bigger target.

im not disagreeing with the right arm method. not at all. but i wont discount the back method, no matter what platform i play on. i would rather take a little time in chat while waiting to break locks to see what the majority plan is. both methods have been verified to work with great success.

I would be up to farming him since I still need that trophy, plus I want the loot. I'm about 5460 I think, and have upgraded the weapons I favor for fighting him. I use a Sumimoto until his armor breaks, then I switch to my wolfhound. Speaking of which, I still need to get a critical force barrel for my wolfy and when I feel like blowing arkforge get its XP crit too.

I regret not farming him before the patch when I was free..sooo..his monkey butt is gonna pay..

His back crystal breaks and I'm like huh??? So of course he doesn't die and in fact keeps over 1/2 his life bar.

Why anyone would take it upon themselves to attempt to change the way the Warmaster has been done for almost 6 months is beyond me. Why they would do it and not inform any of the almost 30 other Arkhunters present that they were doing it is ludicrous.

I see where ur coming from but I kinda disagree. Just because it was the only way it was being done for the past 6 months doesn't mean there isn't another way it can be done. I mean really since 1.500 how many times has he been killed shooting his right arm? Heck how many times has the crystal been broken in less than 2 minutes like it used to? Like puddy said taking a few minutes while everybody waits to get everybody on same page works.

There are a couple advantages to shooting his back. One being that once the back crystal is broke it's fully open and get high dmg numbers. With the right arm it is kinda a 2 step process and don't get the full dmg numbers until EGO tells u that it's fully exposed. The main advantage being the extra damage that u get for having sucker punch perk equipped. But just like Tashinka said that people running around leeching with infectors and BMG's isn't helping the cause in either way we proceed to try to kill it. I think that if we can get all the heavy hitters on the same page to shoot the back we could have great success and not have to worry about the leechers who's just there to freeload. Honestly think about how hard isi it to see the crit spot on arm with infectors and volge weapons shooting at same time?

Puddytat and bigdawg bring up some excellent points, the problem I fear is introducing the back has confused the masses. The key to success (imo) is getting everyone on the same page in team chat before fight, then using damage weapons on agreed point of attack. Also trying to overstuff the room can have the reverse effect - when several heavy hitters in the room are dc'd, while the infection healers remain to heal the other healers.

Tried 2 last night. Arm/Back still doesn't matter at this point due to early lockbreakers and too many low-power players still not able to contribute enough. I don't even know...

What I do know is both failed. And both had one derp shooting at the locks while everyone begged and pleaded for them to STOP! One stopped, one didn't. The failure wasn't entirely due to the lockbreaking either. And since they were low level it took literally FOREVER for them to break each lock so we did manage to get the invites out.

On a humorous note, both of these guys were kicked from their clans for breaking locks. So there is that.

On a serious note, GEEZ TRION FIX THIS MESS ALREADY, WHY HAS IT GONE ON AND ON AND ON? With no response or help from you. All Trion has to do is buff the locks so it requires a bunch of high-powered guns for a few minutes on each, so one griefer or newb couldn't wreck the experience even if they did go rushing in!

    HOW HARD IS THAT!?

They buffed the locks quite a bit but I still don't think it'll stop them. Think the only way we could stop it entirely is if we could set up our own raids which probably isn't going to happen.

For sure, that is the key there, whatever method we do everyone needs to be on the same page. But this is difficult on our server as you know most people don't listen to directions. Whether it's tips on loadouts, what armor to shoot, or telling people to stop shooting locks. I have witnessed a lot of people just shooting the WM anywhere not realizing that they are doing no DMG to him.

I haven't been able to run as many WMs lately myself. Haven't been on Defiance as much, just long enough to get dailies done, but I should be around more this weekend. And yeah, it'd be interesting to see what a room full of like 20 heavy hitters could do, opposed to like the 40+ we do sometimes. Might have to give that a try some night.

I'm all about defeating the WM again, but...only just to do it since it's been posted we're not going to be able to raise epic weapons to legendary. I just wish they'd make they keycode drops worth something again.

Did one earlier tonight. 40+ people in there and still didn't bring him down. There was only about a 6k point difference between 1st & 21st too. He was glitches all over the place, so can only assume that was due to all the people locked in that tight place.

What's that? I thought coming with F2P we'd be able to raise rarity. Cite source, I read different awhile back on forums, directly from Scapes.

I'll find it, but it's only from uncommon to epic you can raise the rarity
