Sure, we get on to do the daily contracts or whatever by ourselves if necessary but I never play without other Dawn Patrol shooters.
Rydda, you called it right when you said that you know how your clanmates play. Excellent point.
When Dawn Patrol recruits join up with us, we always ask them bunches of stuff like:
What type of player/shooter are you? - Do you run and gun like a rifleman? Are you a heavy weapons gunner like using a SAW or LMG as a support gunner? Are you a sniper specialist? Do you love explosives? (Who doesn't???)
Of course we also ask: how many flightless birds can you name? What was "the skipper" character's actual name on Gilligan's Island? Who was the Sleestak that was friendly and wore the red shirt on the TV show "Land Of The Lost"? How do you make Gellatto?
Bizarre, sure.
Needed? Heck yes. We change our "clan message" all of the time, too. It is usually something crazy.
But the bottom line is, it doesn't really matter if we play APOC Z together now because our clan is more than "a bunch of people with a common game".... we are really good friends.
That is why clan.
