Noble_one, I hate that for you.
Our higher EGO shooters know absolutely that it is their responsibility to foster and help along the "younger" shooters.
When We run and gun, we support each other at all times and we always make sure that we do it right and do it TOGETHER.
Sure, we get on to do the daily contracts or whatever by ourselves if necessary but I never play without other Dawn Patrol shooters.
Rydda, you called it right when you said that you know how your clanmates play. Excellent point.
When Dawn Patrol recruits join up with us, we always ask them bunches of stuff like:
What type of player/shooter are you? - Do you run and gun like a rifleman? Are you a heavy weapons gunner like using a SAW or LMG as a support gunner? Are you a sniper specialist? Do you love explosives? (Who doesn't???)
Of course we also ask: how many flightless birds can you name? What was "the skipper" character's actual name on Gilligan's Island? Who was the Sleestak that was friendly and wore the red shirt on the TV show "Land Of The Lost"? How do you make Gellatto?
    Bizarre, sure.
Needed? Heck yes. We change our "clan message" all of the time, too. It is usually something crazy.
But the bottom line is, it doesn't really matter if we play APOC Z together now because our clan is more than "a bunch of people with a common game".... we are really good friends.

Last night my clan members helped me run through co-ops to finish contracts and find data recorders. I am thankful for their help. We also helped a new player gain some experience in the process. If I'm feeling anti-social I don't do clan stuff, but the clan leader Duke and other high level arkhunters are always around to help if I ask. I try to help when I can even if I'm only 2000 ego (I just got there by the way and it's been a fun climb ).

I originally joined a clan when they made it achievement oriented. Before then we had a group of friends who made a name to use. After two clans merged into another (again, for the achievement) I found some awesome people to play with. Suddenly the clan idea warmed up to me. I'd shout out what incursion I was on and spam invites to all that wanted to join in. Same thing with WM. After some silliness the people I had grown close to left, so I followed. We made our own clan again and goofed off. After meeting an awesome guy that always seemed to jump in when we needed a coop buddy or have a weapon if it was needed, it was decided to take the leap of faith and join his clan. I can tell you that it's nice to see an active group that enjoys chatting, joking about. Any time I've mentioned wanting a certain gun/shield they seem to know where to get one. Every day they all join in to do the dailies so everyone can get through it and run about.

The perks that you get for the clan activities are a plus, but at the end of the day it's the friendships that you form that matter. I'm always greeted and sent invites to and feel a part of something comfortable. I think that's what you need to shoot for. Soloing it took away from the experience of the game for me. Finding people I could call friends and depend on in a pinch is what makes the game even better. I feel like we're back to a bunch of friends who slapped a name over our heads so we could find each other easier. Just... more friends this time.

PS: The clan I joined was Das Reboot

the last clan i remember joining was in wow and when that happened (on the 5th guild) i was done with the clan, guild, supergroup, leagues everything. so now i roll solo and go on my own. so yeah i dont join clans now primarily due to my past with them.

again not saying any clans here are like that its just me lol
I know what you are saying very understandable. Me and slyfly was very picky about what clan we wanted to join after we shut down are clan we need a helpfull, knowledgable, competitive, community, and more to say.but we ran with two clan members of tsk tsk out of the blue for gun slingers hook us to join been running with them long enough to call them brother an sisters from another mother or great friends. Yes they understand that some times you got to do some stuff on your own.what can I say they are great. Pick an choose wisely my friend you will a good clan sooner or later thats for you hay if your PSA hit me up run I kick it with you.

Reading some of these posts makes me wonder why some people even bother playing, I really hate it when others don't understand the spirit of a game, I've seen some of the things that Noble_one has said and it makes me....

    Upset!

I've had the same exp with MMO's WoW, Lineage, 2Moons (Dekaron) etc., But you really should not write all clans off, you can always jump out again...

Really try some of the clans from the guys posting in this thread, have a look up. click my banner give us a try there really is no hassle with Lonewolves on either EU or NA servers.

Didn't expect such a response! It's good to see that there are some tight clans in this game. I'm going to try to get into one tonight. I agree with most of you that clans can make a big difference. For me it was guilds in games like EverQuest Online Adventures (PS2 mmorpg) and other games like Multi Theft Auto (on the mmorpg server... yes GTA has a mmorpg mod lol). It really can make a big difference in how long you stay active and how much fun you have.

This exactly. Heck I even give scrip to new players all the time. I let them pick from a few different programs!

1: Challengers for Chumps = I take you to Crystal Pond and give you the 30k for the Oj challenger.

2: Dunies for the Downtrodden = I take you to headlands and give you 30k for a duni of YOUR choice.

3: Hannibals for the Helpless = I take you to headlands and give you 30k for a Hannibal of YOUR choice.

4: Weapons for the weak = I take you to a vendor and let you pick the weapon, then give you the amount you need for it.

5: Shields for they shy = I help you get a shield at your level, even if I have to spam zone chat to find one for you.

I also always offer help. I don't always have friend space available on my friend list, but you can send me a message and if I am online and not busy in something time-consuming like an expert co-op, then I will help, otherwise I will message why I can't at the moment. I even mentioned in chat with clanmates today that I was too short on cash to get a mod I needed. Not only did I get handed enough for the mod, but 2 clanmates each gave me scrip to keep helping the newb community because they think it is a GREAT cause!
