Clans (what's the point?)

This exactly. Heck I even give scrip to new players all the time. I let them pick from a few different programs!

1: Challengers for Chumps = I take you to Crystal Pond and give you the 30k for the Oj challenger.

2unies for the Downtrodden = I take you to headlands and give you 30k for a duni of YOUR choice.

3: Hannibals for the Helpless = I take you to headlands and give you 30k for a Hannibal of YOUR choice.

4: Weapons for the weak = I take you to a vendor and let you pick the weapon, then give you the amount you need for it.

5: Shields for they shy = I help you get a shield at your level, even if I have to spam zone chat to find one for you.

I also always offer help. I don't always have friend space available on my friend list, but you can send me a message and if I am online and not busy in something time-consuming like an expert co-op, then I will help, otherwise I will message why I can't at the moment. I even mentioned in chat with clanmates today that I was too short on cash to get a mod I needed. Not only did I get handed enough for the mod, but 2 clanmates each gave me scrip to keep helping the newb community because they think it is a GREAT cause!

I'm sorta in this problem...I've been in two clans since joining Defiance, and they've both gone cold.

Back in the days when I played WoW (hack, wheeze..."hey you kids, get off my lawn!"), I entertained the idea of starting my own clan. I'd been in a couple by that time, one really great (that unfortunately died when the wife of the husband/wife team ran off with one of the clanmembers), and one that was kinda ho-hum. I'm in a great guild now over in BSGO: Warrior Nation.

But the Nation doesn't have a presence in this game. So I'm giving serious thought to one of two approaches:

1) Start a WN chapter in-game, and see if I can build it from there.
2) Start my own little clan with a different name, and see if I can build it from there.

Of course...the Dawn Patrol bubbas come across as so completely cool, I wonder if maybe I should start a PC-NA chapter for them. Just a thought...

Dawn Patrol isn't about where or what server that We are on. It is about WHO WE ARE. We are casual gamers who love having fun and want to enjoy the game and enjoy each other. If You want to look at Dawn Patrol on PC, talk to Shadow Andreas because I endorse it all the way to the ground. I wish that Dawn Patrol had representation on all of the platforms, because clan isn't about being an "elitist" thing, or being "exclusive". Clan is about being a group or good friends who have fun together.

I know that Batmin can come across kind of abrasive sometimes or at the very least opinionated. (I am being generous, He is fcukin' nuts!)
But trust me when I tell you this : you will never meet a more genuine person - Batmin would house you and feed your family if he could, man.
He has a huge heart and cares. Yeah, he is crazier than an "outhouse rat" but he is honest and real and a straight-shooter.
I read his posts before we became clanmates and I was like "who is this tool?" And now I just remember that regardless of my opiknion on a matter, Batmin will tee it high and let it fly.
Someone asked about "Batmin". That is how we pronounce "Batman". It is a play on the "Jewish superhero" comedy routine, like about Spidey being called "Spidermin". "Batmin" runs the Dawn Patrol's kosher deli.

Anyway, this is some silly clan stuff. But that is a big thing about what clan is.

Anyway, yes I am opinionated and as plenty can attest to, I WILL tell you how I feel about you if asked. I am an A-hole just like Dennis Leary, but I can be a nice guy and do tend tou give peoplle a shot. But at the same time, I am paranoid and you can lose my trust very easily.

There will all ways be pro's an con's with clan with out clan either or chat channel the most. Iv all ways look for the pro's there alot of stuff even a 5k plus ego will need help with. Like last nite expert motherload wow that took forever to get done glad I had clan members with me. Most clan members are willing to listen to you then just some random player.

Agree with the statement about help. Just today I got seriously stomped on by DM at the nova strike bridge mission. Now I've done this before, but not like this, at one point I had four (4) bulwark's coming at me and had run out of every type of ammo.... Sent out a simple msg on clan chat "need hlp gate bridge pls" It was like having drop shock troops, suddenly i had guys from everywhere opening fire.. It was so cool....

OK, let me say this clearly...CLANS ARE NOT OF THE ESSENCE in this game.
I`m proof of that, almost 5K and no clan to support me.

But i`m sure that, if i want, i`ll get in any clan that i wish if i want.


I`m also sure that if i want to get in to a major clan, they will know my valor.

Ps: those ego points restricted for clan pursuits are needed though

But - Having said that, I RESPECTFULLY must disagree on the "essence" of Defiance being in Multiplayer. Not necessarily in the "clan" setting (although that is where the essence of Defiance lies for me) but a group of people (preferably friends) playing together to accomplish a common goal.
As You said - You don't HAVE to have others, You do just fine on Your own.
That Rocks, I appreciate that and I am glad that You like it that way!
Myself, I am a social creature and I desire the interaction with my clan to derive my enjoyment from Defiance whereas You do not. Also good!
As I stated previously, nothing but absolute respect for You Drac. Just a difference of opinion.
