Instead of tagging and leaving they stay so I Inspect them - EGO 4000 - when added together LOL.

They stand at the edges as about 150 DM show up and they snipe at them- eventually realizing their sniping did nothing to TL 10 Dark Matter they hid behind rocks on the outskirts of the site - I ask them politely to leave and I will clear the stupid horde. They ignore me. I ask less politely. They ignore me. I said oh well and begin clearing the enemies in their direction - maybe forced extractions will get them gone. Nope. They extract and extract and stay right there doing nothing - or occasionally shooting and accomplishing the same.

2nd Time I was at the Conflict Site for Top Notch in South San Fran (where you have to fight scrappers and then protect the computer from Dark Matter while Eren takes control of scrappers). I arrived to see a single purple dot sitting on the outskirts of the site. I inspect and he's EGO 5200+ so I figure no biggie. He hasn't even initiated the conflict yet. I engage and am whooping butt till about 200 DM show up with Bulwarks. The guy just sits on the edge of the site and tries to lure them one at a time. He's using the most garbage weapons also; I notice as a Blast Rifle makes its distinct sound. I ask him over and over to either engage or leave. He ignores me and continues his ridiculous management of the site.

In both cases a conflict that should have lasted 10 minutes becomes a ridiculously long slog against DM while lower EGO/lesser skilled players leech/troll the event.

    Working as intended indeed.
A majority of low egos say the high egos grief them, yet they fail to see it works both ways. I'll be sure to help the cause.

    0-1000: tl1
    1001-2000: tl2
    2001-3000: tl3
    3001-4000: tl4
    4001-5000: tl5
    5001-6000: tl6

after this, threat levels should be based on simple addition of egos in a given area:
    tl7 - 6000-10,000 total ego
    tl8 - 10,001-15,000 total ego
    tl9 - 15,001-20,000 total ego
    tl10 - 20,001-xx,xxxx total ego

mt. tam should also have a multiplier of 0.5 so the threat level there can never reach top tiers
    I do like those numbers.

I don't want to play with high level players because TL 10 is a chore. I can't play with low level players without making enemies unkillable for them.

On that note, the EGO scaling is not increasing player damage. Enemies that I can down in 3-4 shots, up-scaled EGO players can't even scratch.

It is scaling player damage. It doesn't scale them to the level of the mobs.

Simple yet effective solution. Please make this happen. Then again...I'm not expecting Trion to adopt this formula because, well, it makes too much sense.

Oh my G-d... this was me this morning, except there was one purple with a TL10 when I arrived. The scrappers were doable at first, then someone else entered. Suddenly we were knee deep in Scrappers and I had to run to where they were twice to get them to help. By the time I made it to the computer they were no where to be found. BF jumped in to help and it was the two of us against a ridiculous amount of enemies. Finally we both did call out for help in clan chat and were able to clear out the remaining DM. Way too many enemies, regardless of the EGO. That was a pure grind and I can't imagine trying that again with my lower EGOs. I'm dreading Sutro Tower....

So does Sutro. I was having a good time TL5ing the place for yesterday's contract when a couple of people started the San Fran racing trial. Started jumping between TL7 and TL9 depending on what lap they were on.
I'm getting tired of having to Swap to my Bio Northstar all the time to keep 5 and 7 plate DM from splattering me. I'd like to finish leveling my Infector skill at some point. LOL

Dynamic scaling is something we’ve been working on for a long time. You may have caught hints of it in some unusual UI issues with the display of EGO ratings when Gunslinger launched, or in the recent addition of a seemingly meaningless Threat Level to certain events. There are two reasons we’ve held onto it for so long: We want to get it right, and we want to make certain it is adjustable. Scaling is dangerous in any game, and a number of other open-world games have handled it poorly (which results in the lack of a feeling of progression. (“Why the hell do all these roadside bandits suddenly have magic armor or … tanks?”)

Funny how they mentioned this disaster before it came out... guess its another one of "those" games now.

i could give a long, long list of how this system would have effectively simplified almost every aspect of the threat level system in open world play, and co-ops and arenas. the way i see it, it was just a suggestion made to late, that will fall on deaf ears and blind eyes, so providing detail is pretty much a waste of time.

That succinctly sums up probably the biggest reason this entire scaling business has been a complete fiasco. Maybe...MAYBE...the concept can work, but it's as obvious as a hippo in a tutu that it needed literally months of additional testing and tweaking to be ready even for a public beta. And even then, all a properly adjusted scaling system would accomplish is to return the game to a state it was already in in prior to DLC5: where characters of widely-differing EGOs can team effectively. The scaling system answered a question no one was asking.

Well, possibly excepting those who wanted the game to be a bit more challenging (I'm one of those). Unfortunately, DLC5 didn't accomplish much along those lines. There's only slightly more challenge...and an awful lot of tedium and frustration. Defiance: NGE.
