Does item level mean anything?

This is really disappointing. I was thinking that buying boxes for bits wasn't quite pay for power since people would still need high ego rating for the best weapons, but it sounds like you can spend $ to get the best of everything right from the start. That's about as lame as it gets in an MMO

Here's a few issues with the weapon / upgrade system that i would like, and probably many with me,
for Trion to THOROUGHLY explain exactly how they work.

1) What happens when you max out a Weapon.
2) What do you gain from Maxing out a Weapon.
3) What is "weapon skill" ?.
4) Why would it be worth spending all the time getting a +1% Aim mod... when 1% is nothing.
5) How does "weapon skill" affect your character or weapon?.

1) It gets a bonus, and your weapon skill no longer progresses while using it.

3) If you look at your stats page you can see your skill with each type of weapon. Every time one goes up you get a bonus with that weapons type (faster reload, reduced recoil, etc.)

Hmmm I just found a level 253 "respark" shield with 1036 capacity compared to the 1016 on my old level 50. Both are white quality. Maybe the scaling is just really really slow.

I found a shield that has green colors in everything vs my old. So there are items that's better.

But if you think about similar MMORPGS, you don't replace your weapon neither every five minutes...

I believe so. I am still using my original light machine gun. It's maxed, and no longer giving me any LMG skill. But it has 1.03x magazine capacity!!!!11111oneone

Probably the case. The people who reached the "end game" (people who rushed story and thats it), I think the highest said they were under 400 still? So, say, this is a traditional MMO, and Level 5000 ego is just a normal level 100. They are only technically what, level 12?

But that is VERY annoying.

I have found a nice weapon, and haven't received a new Assault Rifle for a while. Of course, I could buy new lock boxes. But they require keys.

Sometimes I just get keys random.. Do you get keys for time being online or?
