Higher ego on a weapon, I think, means that it has a higher chance of being slightly better than a lower ego weapon.

ive got a nortstar flare gun lvl 158
i also have a northstar flare gun lvl 198
the only difference?
the typo i made on the first guns name..
I can understand why they've gone for this approach but there are higher chances of better Stats and Bonuses on the Higher Items I guess. It really doesn't feel like you're progressing and I just end up using the same gun for ages because it does the same damage as any other gun.
Kind of removes the aspect of gearing up and getting better gear. Its all down to Random chance.
this is my nr1 complaint about the game, no loot progression at all, lvl 250 stuff the same as the stuff i got when i entered the game
... i dont even see the logic, you could just remove the loot all together cause its pointless
when i first saw it had loot i was all like "omg yes borderlands online" now im like.. "wtf happened here ?"
no logic to it. only laziness.
and its ****ing appaulingly lazy at that. its infuriatingly stupid.
even cod has progression ffs.
The higher EGO on the weapons the better chance you have for additional stats. Like the added elements to them, and more attachments. Right now at ~250 I can only have 2 attachments to my weapons. I've added two attachments to one of my starter weapons to actually bring it back up to par with my higher level weapons just because I liked one of the stats on the older one better.
There is a lot of customization you can do with the weapons, you just have to dive a little deeper and it does rely on chance quiet a bit.
