Protective Armor Location(s)?

Hello guys

As you all may know that i am still kind of new to the game but really love the game
i always have trouble learning a new game at the beginning eventually a little down
the road i learn from experience, and know game's like the back of my hand. Well
I come to you all today, in need of a little help, first things first. I haven't obtained
a retail copy yet due to finding out that it's hard to find the PC version down here
in Louisiana... or Trion discontinued the retail pc version of the game without knowing?

So this is currently my problem, i've searched high and low of the boundaries of the trial version
and have not, i repeat have not a single piece of armor, only thing I've found was a hood that
i bought for Jericho, and i don't think this type of "headgear" has anything to help with protection.
I have these big battles with so many different people that own bad *** armor! Just wish i could
find it in the city.. by the way my EGO is listed at 195 (not sure if that's a high level or not)
I've drove around everywhere in the city looking for body armor (If that's what it's called in-game)

So since I've searched youtube for the destination armor locations. I do see where their located
But really kind of confuses me some videos though, i guess it's because the people don't own the trial
version such as myself.

Welcome to Defiance.

The setup in Defiance is quite different from your typical MMO style game. Clothes and physical appearance don't effect your armor or protection from enemy's out in the world, there just there for the aesthetics off looking pretty. The main "armor" and protection will come from your shield when you find one, and other slight protective EGO power unlock's in the EGO grid.

Hey there buddy!!

Oh God... Man Defiance is a whole different ball game i see ha! RIFT, WOW, EQ and all of those games are football and Defiance is Hockey!! Hahaha oh man! Oh please forgive me i am such a noob lol, i really want to learn alot more about this game.. I guess i better start studying the wiki's more official wiki's that is.. So i own a Rhino II Shield i do believe I'm around 200 EGO or close to it...I'm so used to other mmorpg games, so i take it that 200 EGO is a very low level and not a high level at all.. So what do you think the best way to get a great shield, when Hell Bugs and other enemies drop them, from quests
(haven't seen any items i get rewarded from doing quests)
Or the shops have them? I sure wish they've made a Prima or Brady strategy guide for this game but i am guessing those are a think of the past I'm kinda old school (born in 1984) I would love to buy one to take it with me on the go, so i can learn! I searched google high and low i think Prima official website has guides but their digital only with a few links on them... I sure do miss the days when games had strategy guides missing those days!!! And i really hate to keep bugging you guys on the forums, but i search other places and usually don't get the right results i am looking for! But i do appreciate your help by the way, and saved me some script thinking, i am upgrading my character armor when you do that by purchasing a shield ha! It takes place in 2046... why didn't i think of that at first by that time in real life, our U.S. Troops probably can fight wars in their tanktops and digital camo pants and deflect bullets, with a blue transparent "Patriot" shield lol...
