Hi Drama and others
While its likely not the answer you want to hear, at this point we don't see any issues.
Today we:
- Double checked the loot tables are set to the values we want. They are.
- We followed the same process a live player would to obtain those items on our test environments. Over multiple tests, they averaged out per the loot tables.
- We followed the same process a live player would on the live servers to obtain those items. Over multiple tests, they averaged out per the loot tables.
- Confirmed all outfits are dropping.
Also, please realize that we have:
- A very small sample set here on the forums.
- In my experience, on the forums, people are much more likely to vocalize about what they didn't get, than acknowledge when they did get something from a RNG implementation like this.
This is the same "seems ok to us" answer they gave me when I asked about why I only got 3 purples and no OJ out of 20 Veteran lock boxes. I will NEVER spend money with them again. As far as the in game boxes I get them when I can and fully expect to be buying ark salvage, as that is 99% of what comes out of those as well.
I'll take a wild guess and say the rate which Trion thinks is allright doesn't really match with what the players think is allright.
And the players themselves couldn't agree on the right drop rate either :P
Have you guys thought about some kind of bad luck protection for the DLC outfits, if it's not in ?
Something that increases the chance to get an outfit every time you don't get one, or some such.
Please note:
1) The values wanted by The Company are in direct opposition to the player base. We feel we've paid for a DLC that did not deliver. And setting the RNG to a practically unobtainable lottery, along with restricting our earnings, is making it tedious and frustrating to try and fail to get what we wish, supply crate after supply crate, week after week.
Perhaps a nice idea for Gunslinger/VBI rep, and all the rest of the contracts INCLUDING Chimera, would be to adjust them in the way 7th Legion rep can be earned - 5 points per incursion even when your contracts are complete. Those of us who want to grind, can do so. Those of us that are sick of waiting for OJ's, can just forget the whole thing and up the rarity of our blues etc. next week.
2) While you are right about a small sampling here on the forums, the same does go for my in-game friends. No one I know has gotten an OJ out of gunslinger OR 7th Legion in a couple weeks. And true, people are more likely to complain than compliment.
I think part of the issue here might be that if the RNG is the same value for contract supply crates as it is for the keycode lockbox purchases is that keycodes accumulate much faster. And we can use our salvage/scrip to buy more. Most days I buy at least 2 sets of T2 lockboxes = 18 boxes a day.
The 7th Legion and Gunslinger boxes are more like ONE SINGLE BOX A WEEK. Compare that to 126 lockboxes in a week and of course the player base feels like something is horribly wrong. There is something wrong, but not with the RNG. It's a decision-making policy problem - the logic of this decision I will never understand. It's not like we can buy these things with bits, so what is the goal here? To grief us? Seems like there is no good to come of it on either side.
It's a damn shame that The Company feels it necessary to keep such a chokehold on this paid content lottery system. But like I said, screw it. I'll just up the rarity on what I got. Although I'm super-skeptical that the rarity upgrades will be working as intended next week.
And thanks for checking into it, PhantasieTrion - you're right I don't like the answer but that is no reflection on you...it's The Company's decision and I think it stinks. I hope you will share these thoughts with the decision makers. Perhaps you can come back and explain what logic lies behind this decision.

I would like to chip in and state also that I agree with Drama here.
I also feel that the RNG seems weighted for different people, a friend pulls three or four OJs a day, gets an OJ from the 7th about once every two weeks, and one from gunslinger about every three. I, on the other hand, have only pulled 3 OJs from gunslinger in the entire time its been out (just as many boxes opened as my friend btw), and 4 from 7th legion (admitedly the amakuni was one).
In terms of general OJ pulling, I maybe get one a week (maybe if Im lucky), I pull more boxes than my friend, I also play more than my friend, he pops on for contracts and then goes off to play other games.
In terms of the diferent types of guns, he gets a wide variety, its always something different. Me, I get sniper rifles and pump shotties... Lots of snipers... most with run n gun... you can see why I dont particularly like trions RNG...
Ok so i see 2 serious problems with the 7th legion supply crate setup (besides the manner at which the outfits drop).
First as i mentioned previously in this thread one of the very few OJ items i did recieve from 7th legion was the OJ blade. This item is best possible version of this item since there are no variations and it is untradeable. Since i have the best possible version of this item and it is untradable and i can use only one i dont need anymore of these yet they will keep dropping from the boxes wasting my RNG chances.
Second , The first item that drops from everybox is a shield and last night i pulled a single box and recieved an OJ shield but the shield was the third item to come out of the box. Why if every first item is a shield do i lose a chance at a gun for my third item , I would rather have a chance at a gun than a shield. The first item out of every box should not be a guaranteed shield it should possibly be a gun too.
