    I feel so..lonely.

This has got to be the biggest complaint that I have about the game. For the most part I feel like I'm playing a single player game when I'm not with friends. I know we have to take into consideration the 360/PS3, but it really doesn't feel like an MMO with a bunch of people around. The most I ever see at any given time is during an major Arkfall event, and even then it's like... 30 people.

I think once the servers are running at 100%, you'll see a ton more people in-game. During the beta, that was the case. Its probably a good thing there werent 100+ at the arkfall lol, laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag abounds

I think if the Chat was easier to see I'd feel more like there was people around me. But I like them Appearing / Disappearing right next to me its very realistic and allows you to immerse yourself even more in the game.

One can only hope I suppose, though I'm doubting very hard at this point since there are different layers/phases/channels that people log into.

@LoVato: Well isn't that wonderful. I'm happy for you.

I'm kind of bothered by this and at the same time, not =\

I'm mainly a single player gamer, where MP doesn't even factor into my interest for a game. For Defiance though, I kind of like doing the single player missions on my own or being well into them before others show up (don't really like walking into missions half finished and such) but I also like the randomness of having someone come to my aid. So I don't mind the 'loneliness' but at the same time, I kind of expect the other players to also 'liven' up the world like it should be (since they take the roles of the other Arkhunters).

    Weird, I know.

Conversely, it's about the only thing that I really dig. Contrast to other games, combat wise Firefall wins; depth wise, Fallen Earth wins.
When we want something in between (since Borderlands 2 is finished), we play Defiance.
When I'm alone and want to play, I don't have to run into the internet trolls, ******s, morons, socialites, narcisstic ego trippers and transgendered social rejects.
e.g. it feels like the world is mine and occasionally I run into strangers where upon we assist one another with a like minded goal. Afterwards we nod our thanks and silently depart..

We're not here to make friends, hang out, loiter, socialize or stand around AFK while at work.
The "MMO" part of MMOTPS stands for massive multiplayer online, which technically it is. What it doesn't mean is that we're forced to hold hands or make strangers into pals.

Sooner people learn to accept that TRION didn't make another RIFT, sooner we can get onto pressing matters.

It does not feel lonely to me. The fact that you can just look over your shoulder and see someone shooting at an enemy makes me feel like I'm never truly alone in this game. I take missions and players will wander in and help me accomplish them. And then at the starting hub and arkfalls there are huge groups of players.

I'm not a socialite by any stretch, however having those kinds people that are playing the game, chatting with other people and so on, makes the game feel alive. I didn't buy a single player game, and for the most part, I knew exactly what I was getting when I bought the game. I'm just saying to me, because I don't see anyone really unless I'm standing around at a vendor or during an arkfall or chatting away or what have you, it doesn't feel like an MMO.

Also, I came to terms with the fact that this wasn't an MMORPG-shooter and was instead a MMOTPS back in February. Clearly there are differences between this and Rift, they're not even the same genre of game.

First thing that happened to me after I finished the tutorial was someone asking me to join a squad. After we got past the I initial confusion, we were off, flying around in each other's vehicles. We quickly found out how to ride in the other's car.

Just two randoms meeting up and having a blast.
