You can count on K-TAM radio to help with the RP elements. I hope to maintian a 70/30 split of RP content vs non-RP. The Non being game info and how to's. The RP will be everything from interviewing clan leaders, hosts, content, commercials and so on. Music being geared for the world as well.

Our current beta stream is only to test it out and make sure it is working, but I will be in character when I speak on the air and I hope to have a story line progression for the radio launch as well that will fit the theme. So I hope people who join in to listen or participate will also RP and have fun enjoying the game and lore and even learn some alien tongues.

This is what was being talked about in the beginning of this thread. Trying to break down the walls between console gamers and PC gamers along with the walls between shooters and roleplayers but this is is a step backwards. Now the walls are coming back up and your blocking out the other players who are on console who would like to try roleplaying out maybe for the first time. As a leader in the roleplay community should you not open your doors to the console gamers and offer them guidance and advice and a place to develop there characters as well?

Having dabbled in web / forum creation myself i cant imagine creating two more threads on your site labeled "Playstation 3 Roleplay Community" and "Xbox 360 Roleplay Community" would be all that hard. Heck just put them into one thread (if your feeling that lazy about it.) labeled "Roleplaying for Console Gamers" or something to that effect so we can all be included and share our ideas / thoughts / character builds with each other.

I hope you reconsider your decision and you really want to help "build this community" and not hinder it by making it PC player exclusive.

I don't think the various play styles are mutually exclusive. RPers simply need to adapt to the game world and stop expecting the game world to adapt to them.

I am an RPer from way back in the D&D days. I tend to play m roll by action not standing around trying to make other gamers listen to some silly flowery speach.

I should mention, the sort of RPer you're referring to isn't quite the same thing that I was talking about in terms of "elite rpers". You're describing more of the hardcore RPer crowd. And you're right, if you're focused on an specific in character drama, I can understand ignoring others who have no interest in participating. This of course tends to annoy some of the non-rp crowd which is a failing on their part to understand that sort of playstyle. Really the best way to deal with it is to just ignore them and move on.

However the "Elite RPer" that I was talking about are the sort who try to enforce their RP vision on everyone else. Essentially everyone who doesn't play the game their way, and subscribe to their opinions and mythos, are seen as clearly being stupid and immature and incapable of playing the game the "proper" way. And they're not shy about telling you when you're playing the game wrong. Even if you are an RPer yourself they will not hesitate to tell you that your RP is wrong.

Yes there are actually people like that. And again, the best way to deal with them is to just ignore them and move on.
that my friend is called god modding ! xD and thankyou lord that the setting for characters in this game is "your average soldier" and that we dont have rediculous powers lol. I cant stand god modders or meta's when it comes to rp, one of the many flaws i saw in COH. BUT there is hope still for roleplay in this game. I for one, plan on roleplaying an Alcoholic Scout/sniper+Quickdraw type. Mainly because well. Im a dam Alcoholic in rl, yes ill admit it. at least i accept it xD

I think the only way you can rp in this game is through voice communication, honestly. I would treat the rp like radio chatter. while playing, talk/communicate with whomever you are playing with with your voice as your OWN character, no? Because this game does have great rp elements but its a bit fast paced. that which i have just said is intended for battles and arkfalls and co-op missions. The txt rp i can see for bar conversation or social hubs, but i could also so voice commincation int aht area if your grouped. you would just simply have to know what you were talking about and have a bit of lore knowledge

Aragorn: It is an army bred for a single purpose: to destroy the world of men. They will be here by nightfall.

    Theoden: Let them come.

Hello there, sorry for the long wait on a response and I do hold a few reasons why I am PC exclusive, one being a very fundamental issue, I am not consol based, with this I have no idea what the Console community is doing, where there story is and I can give no actual input, to remedy this issue, I'd need a presence of RP'ers from the Console to step in and bridge this gap, I'd be more then happy to give them full mod rights to help weld the two platforms, aka, universes together (I see them as alternate universes.) and thus it would need a very clear indication of what is PC content and what is Console content, content is what I mean by Lore, this in its very nature divides the two platforms in a other level.

So to summarize, it is currently PC only (Though people are welcome to join in with the discussions and fan-fic) but even so, I'm happy for the Console community to use it to organise groups / events, the main issue is when we come to the lore.

If I could get people to bridge that gap, well, I'd be very happy.
