If only. I don't think I've EVER had this problem with playing solo, rarely in coop maps, and an order of magnitude more likely during sieges and arkfalls where there's a lot of players. It's like there's a thread sending player updates and an instanced thread processing game logic at each event; the logic thread skips a beat because it's being slowed down by all the stuff going on and then the network thread kind of goes haywire since it's not getting the attention it wants.
Just random guessing. I'm not familiar with intimate workings of MMOGs. But I think it's more plausible than the crosstalk/line noise theory :P
