I think the whole concept of spending arkforge to upgrade weapons or reset mastery bonuses really depends on the person.

For me, I'm not looking for that "perfect" weapon.. I'm looking to work up to a weapon that "perfect for xyz situation". I even upgraded one of my XAR's to oj, and got a nice 1.25x damage roll in the process, on a weapon that got a 10% damage from behind bonus from mastery. It's a great little weapon as it sits.

Now, that being said... if your hurting for arkforge, go open a bunch of T2 boxes. Arkforge drops pretty consistantly from them if you use Shondu's as your vendor. It'll probably take you 20 to 25 boxes opened to get to 500 arkforge, but you MAY just run across a better weapon worth upgrading in the process, or drop an orange (very low chance, but does happen).

As for resetting mastery bonuses.. that's a crap shoot at best. The only thing we know for certain, you won't get the same mastery twice in a row, or even again within the pool of bonuses. If you've got a good weapon that needs a bit of boost and you don't mind leveling it up again (easy to do at arkfalls for most weapons).. I think that's the best bet for the buck right now, IF the weapon is worth keeping and keeping leveled as you progress in ego levels.

I propose that orange means nothing. What matters is the SPECIFIC bonuses that an item gains as it goes up in rarity. Which is a huge gamble.

My point is that your message should read "In a hurry to get that amazing piece of hardware? Go grind up to EGO 5000+ first so that raising an item to orange rarity isn't a long term waste of resources". And then you can look forward to grinding the hell out of the system until you get what you want. It's an achievable goal, just reeeeeeeally long term and pretty much a non-feature to anybody who isn't level-capped and overflowing with resources.
I`m so sorry that you are new to the game, so sorry that you don`t want to play the game and find things as they are meant to be.
I have near 100 Legendary items that were awarded to me by playing the game, good or bad it`s another question...i don`t need them.
But i have weapons ready to be Legendary worthy, and i`m not complaining, if i want to upgrade them i`ll have to farm the arkforge or buy it.
You people have just arrived and you want everything handed to you guys.

I agree. And what's worse, is that now that levels scale up weapons stats as you progress, these same people will be on the forums in another month complaining that they spent arkforge to upgrade a weapon at ego 900 that's become completely useless at ego 3200. I wouldn't even touch raising a weapon with an ego under 4K at this point, even if it means I have to level it up using arkforge to get it there (which I've done). The differences are just too great, and the new F2P players don't understand that part, but hopefully they will SOON.

10% power recharge on full reload? This is bad roll for LMG. You know that LMG has the biggest clip?
Probably good for SMG or Detonator or RL or even AR, but I would not call it as a best one for LMG.
I don't think I'll ever find a better one unless the stars align.
Russian Bear Rage incoming on PC NA.

Think of it this way: I'd rather use a sub-par SAW than trash them and NEVER use one. Funnily enough, the purp is one of the most effective weapons I've ever picked up. I guess I just have horrible luck with loot.

If you do that would be hugely appreciated and I would be very grateful!

Nope, never increased a weapon's rating, that's how it dropped. That's REALLY weird now that I think about it...
Its not that they are not perfect, its that they are total garbage. I mean no offense but I found 15 blue ones yesterday that are better. You dont need any stars anywhere lol, you will find a better one in NO TIME.

What you on? Xbox? I will give you 3 better legendaries than those saws man hit me up tonight.

Even when I finally DID find an OJ, I still liked the purp more... even if Syphon is a bit "meh" compared to Bio.

But then I see so many players in game poo-pooing Upgrade Rarity and calling it a waste... well, for the sake of preserving my beloved old SAW, would it be worth it here?
Those are both horrible. And your stock mod is wrong.

And since it costs even more arkforge to update a higher quality weapon than a lower one, I just can't see the point in investing that much unless you are REALLY high level and have a bottomless supply of both arkforge and "blank" guns to keep rolling over and over to get what you want.
95% of statistics are made up on the spot. Most weapons can only get a choice of 2-3 orange rolls. The SAW, for example, can get damage, fire rate, or mag. Damage and Fire Rate are roughly equal for DPS. Mag is slightly lower, but still close. Learn to use more resources than made-up percentages. http://www.defiancedata.com/weaponbo...ssault&f=icons

Upgrading rarity is a great feature and supposed to be used judiciously. You get a massive bonus to a weapon when it is upgraded. It should not be cheap it enough for you to take a shot with every random piece of garbage you find.
