it would help if you stated your isp everyone,i dont think connection is the issue...i have a very "unique" isp with a modest connection of 10 mbps

i think it might be due to hidden connection throttling when engaged in bandwidth intensive game type things

You're new here, aren't you? It's a UNIVERSAL problem. Don't even start saying everyone has bad internet. We've been down that road and back for a year so don't go there again. You are confused. Trion has acknowledged the issues here (see Scapes post #48):

And I didn't ALL OF A SUDDEN get "bad internet" at my house after a year of gameplay - not to mention it coincided nicely with the June 4th F2P massive update.

Sorry to be so fierce about this but it's annoying when people try to pass this stuff off to "bad internet" crap.

Or when devs say it's your comp but the issue started right after an update. If the game played fine before an update then doesn't after, its not the comp.

i said it was to do with isp,NOT bad connection

and it fits in with your observation too...think about it this way,its very possible that after a relatively large uptick in traffic to defiance because of the f2p launch, that an isp would identify the traffic increase and throttle it

Yeah...like I said been up and down this road for a YEAR and it's a sore subject...it took SO LONG for The Company to acknowledge the problem on PS3. At least now it affects all platforms - no offense but it's harder for them to deny it now.

No. You're mistaken, you're confused. Comcast btw, is the ONLY ISP OPTION I HAVE. Everything else is fine, video streaming, other games, etc. Stop acting like you know what's going on. Leave it alone. Lag and connectivity problems have been with this game a year, stop trying to "decide" it's ISP. It's not.

EDIT: In addition, yesterday 6/16 had the WORST lag I've ever seen. I seriously doubt all of my neighbors and everyone in all the surrounding towns suddenly started playing Defiance just yesterday. They don't even game as far as I know.

i agree...it could be that the traffic itself has altered packets to attempt to bypass normal regulation at isp,so that with these f2p upticks the surge of malformed packets of data in the isp draws more attention

also another thing id think that console players need some more love too...i mean especially with the ps3,its basically a computer anyways, you can install windows on it and everything

i live in missouri, somewhat close to kansas city, and i have several options, but i chose centurylink

my connection is funny, everything around me can freeze, enemys stuck at spawn in,yet im not, which means i can rack up one heck of a score basically shooting fish in a barrel in seiges and incursions

also another thing comcast has signed contracts with video streaming companies and the like to "guarantee" better speeds for the traffic, but i dont think defiance warrants that...comcast is big on traffic contracts

what? what? stop thinking I even know about programming in any way shape or form. I'm pointing out that this issue is not isp related, it's been acknowledged by The Company, it got much worse yesterday, and and and. I'm just here to add to the reports for their known issues. I put in my bug reports last night. Now I'm bored at work.

IMHO any packets I get have sugar in them.
