IMHO any packets I get have sugar in them.
you can disregard the jibberish,im trying to be freindly...what im saying is,is that its possible trion is attempting to bypass isp "fast lane" contracts, which most big isp do alot,by using a data packet masking tech...which with the occasional spikes in defiance traffic and the most recent f2p launch, cause increased scrutiny, and thus throttling of the defiance traffic ONLY as a self defense measure

oh i dont blame you...consistency would be nice,

i personally dont see why they couldnt have the traffic from consoles and computers going to the same servers

and upgrade the server so it can handle more people...i think a cluster server would be best..i know ibm has some nice blade server models that can be crosslinked pretty easy

I need to quote about 6 different people so lets see what I can do.

dramaQkarri you may have paid Brian to be on his internet, but Trion may not have, so expect Brian to throttle defiance bandwidth to you. No joke.

"my connection is funny, everything around me can freeze, enemys stuck at spawn in,yet im not, which means i can rack up one heck of a score basically shooting fish in a barrel in seiges and incursions" moof

That is not band width or connection, that is server side lag. The server just isn't sending you the updated info as to where enemies and allies are.

"also another thing comcast has signed contracts with video streaming companies and the like to "guarantee" better speeds for the traffic, but i dont think defiance warrants that...comcast is big on traffic contracts" moof

Yup, Brian has you all coming and going. He's going to be crying paper babies when the FCC changes the internet rules latter this summer, and he wont be able to charge you to get it and charge the sites to give it to you. This is the internet, not cable and you have other options. Even in my little rural community we have 5 options for internet. Only one for cable.

"fast lane" contracts, which most big isp do alot" moof

Ahh, no. Brian may be trying to convince you of that, but there are only 2 that do it.

None the less the problem isn't connection, or band width or your ISP, it is server side, they screwed something up bad in 2.0 an haven't figured out how to fix it yet. So please stop blaming the wrong suspect.

Yeah I've been playing Defiance since the game launched last year on PS3 and I know I'm not the only one with constant lagging & disconnects, hard freezes, vehicles disappearing...etc., etc., etc.,...some of us players may sound like broken records, but one would think that after one year some of this schtako would be fixed by now???

Don't mind me... I was just temporarily hacking your interwebs.

    I KNEW it!!!

And I did see a few of my neighbors last night, walking around with multiple copies of Defiance door-to-door like some kind of stepford wives...didn't think much of it at the time...

It is unlikely drama's ISP is to fault, because Comcast (a.k.a. xfinity) is the official internet of Defiance, if you look on the game's web page. It is doubtful Comcast is blocking their own traffic.

OK, I do have other internet options...but all are terrible. Either DSL (yech) or Hughes/Satellite internet (yech AND overpriced). Oh yeah, I could be totally goofy and run it on a Verizon hot spot but I don't hate my money enough to do that. In my area, There ARE NO OTHER high speed internet options. Trust me, I've checked. AT&T cable internet is supposedly coming to my neighborhood but it hasn't happened yet.

But this thread is not about me and my ISP, it's about LAG. Server/client communication is likely the cause - since this lag is universal across all systems and platforms...let's stop derailing this thread.

Incidentally, I feel like all 3 guys here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lStjCsV6BOY

Oh yeah, who the HELL is Brian? what now?
