well i do suppose you all realize the one thing that puts the fork in destiny as it does all games
destiny will,as a rule, become less and less popular over time as its betters are introduced, which is 100% guaranteed given the progression of technology and software...and will eventually lose enough funding and technical support that it will become unplayable, and afew years down the road you WILL 100% guaranteed have the same vociferous comments for destiny that you do for defiance
on the other hand, defiance`s fate is intertwined with the show and vice versa...so when one increases in strength and funding,so does the other...most of defiance`s strength is in the assymetrical gameplay and the fanbase intertwinement,
so essentially...sure,go ahead and go play destiny, drag your freinds with if you want...if you all can tolerate the same unpleasently slow degredation that befalls all games following the tryed/true/deader than the cat im sitting on methods done in the past
now keep in mind im not tryihng to stop you, some people can tolerate the same flavor of things repeating the same way with more lights and stuff each iteration, thats there thing, not mine...i need assymetricalness and the abstract otherwise i get bored
i had my fill of intense death & dead and kill other people to live shooters with high toned graphics since i stopped playing blacklight retribution, halo series, and a smattering of other popular shooter games i tryed and got bored with
Halo was TPS?
Concus, you should grab destiny man...after the upgrading your own weapons to legendary I am finding Defiance REALLY dull. I have everything I could ever want in the game, plus 150 legendaries to just "hold" for fun, plus 8 mil scrip now, 3 mil salvage, and all guns now modded with T4 or T5....
Lockbreakers ruin WM, all arkfalls are useless except Darkfalls, minor arkbreaks are a waste of time (same with all minor arkfalls) i got disconnected twice at the end of a darkfall last night....stupid *** game. sieges suck now. The threat level REALLY makes me want to play EVERYTHING solo now (I honestly just leave a conflict site now if someone shows up, takes too long) All the legendaries in the Chimera vendor suck balls, the episode missions take 20 min to finish (i do appreciate adding more stuff tho Trion) No new enemy types since the Volge almost a year ago, same with any PvP maps or Co-op maps. DLC were a waste of time except 2, but WM is broke now anyway so ya, DLC 2 sucks now too. Market is 100% gone thanks to make your own legendaries.
i couldint sell 15 legendaries for 100k last night, then i asked 90k, then 80k, then I sold 10 legendaries to the vendor cuz no one wants anything...
All the new perks are junk, same with the arenas. The arenas always sucked tho so thats not new.
k i will stop now....but ya i need a new game....playing any game for over a year gets tiresome...but playing THIS game for over a year feels like a form of my hurting myself.
LoL, yes halo was originally designed as s third person shooter. I'm not saying I'm choosing this game over destiny, more that I dislike first person games. I've played the halos and titanfall and I always lose interest in a week....they are just not my thing. Plenty of other games coming out to choose over destiny. If and only of you got an Xbox one would I maybe think about getting it, but I just happen to be a fan of third person games, I like to see my character and enjoy over the shoulder aiming much more than what an fps can offer me.
Talk about yuck... that's what I think of the Xbox One.![]()
I almost have a novel I could fill up about the comparisons between Defiance and Destiny. I am trying to condense it. I loved the Destiny alpha and so far it seems it will be fun but there are still somethings that Defiance does better.
Guns are better in Defiance. I was surprised by the lack of variety in Destiny. For example the only SMG in the Destiny is the equivalent of an FRC Sub Carbine. I don't like burst weapons, and there is no equivalent to a tachmag. Sure there are a lot of bad guns in Defiance but there are more I like then in Destiny.
There is no chat window and I think you can only talk to people with a headset if they are in your group. I never did talk with anyone this weekend. I think everyone I ran into had no mic.
A lot of the content seems to force you into PVP. There are vendors in the Tower which is the central city and only place to buy new gear. There were more vendors that you could only buy gear for by doing PVP bounties like daily contracts in Defiance then there were PVE vendors.
The max level is 20 and seems like you'll be able to breeze through that. Not as many perks to pick from as in defiance and if you want another ability you have start a new character. After getting to 20 pretty much the only thing to do is the PVP bounties to buy legendary gear. I have no gauge yet on how I feel about PVP in Destiny, I need more time with the game.
I still couldn't tell what the maximum amount of players is for open world events that are similiar to ark falls. The most I ran into was 3 other players.
I will play a lot of Destiny and have had it pre ordered for a long time, but it doesn't quite do everything I was hoping for. It's like borderlands with PVP and open world events. It is seemless to group up though like an MMO because you could go to an area and see 2 other people there doing the same thing. There are also CO OP maps that you do have to queue for though.

It may be alpha but I would be absolutely shocked if they add more gun types by September. Pretty much the only thing they are doing between now and then is stress testing the servers and looking for any last minute game breaking bugs.
I know guns are very subjective however they were very limited and never did find a primary type I fell in love with. Here is my take on the types of Primary weapons and their Defiance comparison. Although these have different stats in Destiny based on level and rarity; their type and how they work is the same. Like different synergies and weapon stats on a VBI assault rifle in Defiance, it doesn't change basic functionality. It's also a lot simpler in Destiny.
Assault rifle - like a cross between FRC assault rifle, Saw and VBI.
Pulser - FRC Sub Carbine
Hand Cannon - a magnum that doesn't suck
Scout rifle - FRC Heavy Assault Carbine
They all did fine and were very balanced but for me I couldn't find one I liked like the tachmags.
