    +15% Grenade DMG on Kill - What was, what is, and what COULD BE...

    A long time ago there was a purple roll that said “+15% Grenade Refresh on Kill” – it was one of my personal favorite rolls. I collected “double-Grenadier” weapons that allowed me to throw grenades every few seconds (with a refresh of +30% Grenade refresh on kill). It was glorious and I rained fraggin’ death on my enemies…

    Then grenades were “changed” (let’s not get into that particular topic any more) and it became “+15% Grenade Damage after kill (expires in 10 Seconds)” or, in other words, it became the NEW “+15% Self-Revive on Revive other player” roll – a useless, garbage roll avoided by most players.

    This is seriously a massive oversight.

    I am not proposing undoing the grenade “system” – I am tired of yelling at that wall.

    I am proposing you make the “+15% Grenade Damage…” roll into an actual USEFUL roll.

    Here’s how:

    - Make it applicable to all weapons that fire grenade or grenade-like projectiles. Such as:
    o Clustershot Shotgun
    o Courier
    o Northstar Flare
    o All of those underpowered Lobbers
    o VBI Grenade Launcher
    o I’m not sure I’d advocate it being applied to the Boomers – but meh – why not.
    o Etc., etc., etc.
    Since “grenade-style” weapons share the characteristics of a slow, arcing, explosive projectile – these weapons would certainly benefit from this roll and – since they are frequently subject to completely 100% useless synergies – they should have a roll that really works for that class of weapons the best.



    SMALL ASIDE: It would be even nicer to see the roll changed to “+15% Projectile Damage After Kill (Expires in 10 Seconds)" and have it apply to an even broader spectrum of weapons – Rocket Launchers, Volge Weapons, anything with a “projectile” – but, small bites, small bites…

    I don't have a definite yes or no on this idea. Let's just say that the weapon roll would have to include a cooldown period between damage buffs or the roll would become way to op.

    When this was a great roll it didn't show up all that often. Now that it is a horrible roll, it shows up constantly.

    I miss grenade refresh.

    You're right, and I neglected to mention, but a standard 10 sec. cooldown would be just fine with me. The roll would still be useful.

    I don't see why they didn't leave it grenade refresh, and allow it to regenerate grenades. It's not like grenades are THAT powerful. Useful, yes. Overpowered? Certainly not in PVE. There are a lot of other explosive options (boomer, cluster shot, volge weapons, etc) that are more effective. In PVP there are so many one-hit kill weapons I don't see the point.

    Will agree the current mod is pretty useless.

    Current one is indeed completely useless. Don't quite agree with your fix though, I would much prefer something as simple as +1 grenade ammo after kill. Considering how useful nano grenades are now, that roll would both be relevant to all grenades and actually useful.

    Grenadier could then be +1 grenade ammo after critical kill for first bonus and +1 after any kill for second bonus.

    Back in january this added 15% dmg on all weapons with that roll on a kill and it stacked. It was bugged. I don't even know if it's fixed now.

    But back to topic: Yes. This needs to be changed to something usefull. It's a damn epic roll and at the moment there is NOTHING epic about it. It's just crap.

    I still think grenadier is actually one of the more preferred AR/LMG/Semi auto snipers. I think it is good how it is however the purple roll should be changed up because all of the picky SOB's out there that want ego on reload/ ego on critical kill. And post before mine they did fix the grenade increases regular damage but still I had fun with that either from a canker with 20% DMG as mastery or my grenadier saw with the nade as the purple roll.

    It has nothing to do with picky SOBs, as you put it, and everything to do with the fact that the roll is practically useless.

    Having to kill an enemy before a grenade does extra damage limits how you can then use the grenade if you wish to have the roll activate - if you were a fan of opening on a clustered group of enemies with a grenade well now that doesn't make sense, since you should kill one first to get the damage bonus, right?

    Sure, but then the enemies are no longer clustered and your grenade is markedly less useful.

    The roll "+15% Grenade Damage on a Kill" (and the 2 new parts of the Grenadier synergy as well) was as ill-thought out as the grenade change that it accompanied.

    Hey devs - any thought on re-doing this roll (and the last two on the Grenadier Synergy)??

    I remember also in the past you all had stated that a redo of the Quartermaster Synergy was also coming...where's that at?
