I get why Skeever put a bomb under Stamha's car but I don't recall the reason behind putting the bomb in the Market? What was the motive for that? Why did the miner team with Skeever to do that?

I'm thinking the goal was to get Stamha as well in that opening salvo. It would seem she was likely 'known' to be there prepping for the festival, and would have stayed if she hadn't run into the Mayor and then had to run off and deal with her drug empire.

Actually her last name is Rainer, Berlin is a nickname. I figure they call her Berlin since she sort of does the job of Leni Riefenstahl.

Wasn't able to watch first-run...had to watch the SyFy website rerun.

Ich bin ein Berliner: No, I'm not a jelly donut, but I am kinda intrigued by Berlin. Help me out here: Wasn't that character the winner from the online contest last year? Where SyFy and Trion worked together and let us online players pick somebody to appear in the show?

No, the winning character was a female Irathient Ark Hunter. Who knows what is going to go on with that. The whole contest itself, and in particular how the winner was chosen was suspect. Heck, it's even doubtful that the gamer behind the character is even playing the game any more.

I`m not reading all the posts before me, but i think that Nolan is the strongest character in this show. He`s funny, he`s strong as an individual and he is charismatic, etc, etc...

I like Irisa and Madam ex Mayor, love Sthama (sexy soft kissing Nolan, naughty Sthama) and blá, blá, blá...

Personally, I think they're going overboard trying to "nazify" the Earth Republic. The uniforms, behavior, inane justifications for their behavior, promoting blind obedience, etc, etc. Much like the Star Wars references, it's like they need to fall back on history because they lack the boldness to create new.

Defiance continues the trend of putting really bad music at the end of every episode. Not only was the song at the end of this one really bad but for some reason it just made the entire ending seem very cheesy. The slo-mo shot of Amanda and Nolan going upstairs, the creepy spying mayor. It just seemed so corny to me. Anyone else feel the same? Other than that it was a great episode.

I think it was good.

I feel like Stahma and Pottinger may bump heads with one another. I wonder if they may work together and become the evil dynamic duo.
