Arkfalls=Lagfalls

I just participated in an arkfall an hour ago and I have to tell you, there needs to be something done here. I have played on Alpha and the betas for PC and xbox and has never been this bad. There is no way this game can be played with constant slow down, enemies appearing , disappearing going from half health to full , back to half. The sound of my rifle firing almost mutes itself because it cant keep up with the fire rate of the gun vs the lag in the area. Most of the people stood near an ammo box because of constant reloading trying to kill something that moved out of the way 10 seconds ago. The amount of bullets actually hitting something is very small.
I for one and surprised at the lag and slow framerate because I didn't see any of this at the end of the xbox 360 beta.
I am seriously thinking that consoles in general are crap and could never hope to support games like these EVER. Im sure Trion is doing everything they can but from the player side we aren't seeing any improvements.
Please work harder and faster Trion!

they are working on it. trion never had the opportunity to test the defiance servers with this many players. if the xbox couldnt handle the game than they wouldnt have released it for the xbox. we just need to be patient and make the best with what is currently working

It would nice if they would limit the amount of people who you can actually see during an arkfall. I'm assuming most of the lag is due to the XBox not being able to handle it graphically. If it is a server/latency issue maybe they should slow everything down in an arkfall. Kind of like Eve online does when they have 1000+ people battles.

Could be peoples internet as well, I did a few last night with no issues at all with lag or anything. So it may depend on how many people are online and who has decent internet or not.

Well I can honestly say its not a graphical problem with the xbox. Trion just has a few things to work out and so far are doing an amazing job. lag and graphic problems are completely different and very easy to tell apart.

I just solo'd an arkfall megaboss (Matron) To figure out it glitched on me -.- says its still here but i clearly saw it blow up.

Me and my roommate did 3 this morning, there was easily 100+ others around and we didnt have any lag at all.

I haven't had a problem with lag,my problem is that the last 2 major arkfalls I did,i got nothing for completing them. sometimes I get gear,or experience,sometimes it's a waste of time and gives nothing.

It is a problem with the hardware.
The Xbox 360 has a 512mb shared structure.
What does that mean you have 512mb to share for all operations of the Xbox.
which means when you have 30+ people at a major arkfall its going to struggle to keep up with the movement/shooting of everything going on.

Ok now think of it this way an old PC with a 512mb video card turn the setting of any game to max and watch your framerate stutter everything slows down.
The Xbox is struggling to keep up which is one of the reasons mmorpgs stayed away. That and Microsoft wanting a cut of the monthly fees and any microtrasactions.

Unless they tone down the amount of people allowed into the arkfalls there really isn't anything Trion can do about it.

This will be fixed with next Gen systems as all rumors have them coming out with 8gb of ram.

It's NOT a Hardware problem.
