Well, I feel like I wasted $40, and over an hour of my time!

I love this game, and the show. Well I used to love this game.

I bought the DLC pack of all 5 for $40, and was enjoying it. I finished the mission line to be able to pull down an arcfall on demand, and thought I would try it out. I went to a minor arcfall site, and pulled one down.

It was fine for a while, WAY too many mobs spawned for just little ol' me since I was the only player present. Got through that, after much frustration, and went inside to find my own personal gamer hell.

They wouldn't stop spawning. They just kept coming! Oh the foul language that has spewed forth from my mouth due to this. The Headmaster spawn was WAY to hard for solo. Took me forever to take him down, and once I did they just continued spawning. Then I got TWO headmasters! That's right, 2 of the mob that took me far too long to kill spawned 2!!!!!!

If this is not intended to be done solo, THEN MENTION THAT SOMEWHERE IN THE GAME! If my ego rating was too low, 867 I think, THEN MENTION THAT SOMEWHERE IN THE GAME! This is little more than either poor game design, or poor programing. I mention the programing due to the headmasters continously having clipping issues in the instance!

At this point I hate this damn game, and wish I had never spend a dime on it! Such a shame really since the show is so good.

Shame on this development team. Shame.

Your playing an mmo. Play with some friends or clan members.

This is a multiplayer game. Not designed to play on your own. I recommend fallout new Vegas if your a solo player.

You're not really meant to do anything solo in this game....especially at that low of an ego. Use zone chat to call for help. Its an MMO for Christ sake, do go anywhere alone.

You can solo minor arkbreaks at higher levels but the huntmaster can get very annoying if you give him time to spawn his shield regen drones, I find using my zagger is the best method of getting a load of damage on him before he spawns too many drones .

however unlike the story/side missions the Arkbreaks like most other "events" and are not meant to be solo-able, by design they are meant to cause people to gather and fight together,
you can only get so far in this game if you play lonewolf but its fun to solo some events too challenge your self and test your boundaries.

I highly recommend joining a clan even if you solo most of the time its good to be in a clan of people you know you can count on, it make events like the warmaster ect much easier

So basically you purchase the DLC packs without learning anything about them, What they put out or whatever...

You planted an arkfall spike I think? you didn't read up on that first ? That's your fault and not the game devs

Hmmm, let's see if I can interpret this correctly.

"Mommy, Mommy, I bought the wrong thing and it's THIER fault!".

Shame on YOU for not doing research before you buy. It would have taken all of 15 minutes of research to figure out that Defiance is a MMO, not a single player game.

It depends on what minor Arkfall you were in. Im pretty sure there are 3 types. One that mainly spawns a whole bunch of Bombers. One that's spawns Hunt Master Viscera's. And another that spawns a crazy amount of Hunter Drones.

The one with the Bombers you want to take cover and hide behind one of the pillars on the balcony. You don't want to be on the ground floor for that one. From here the main threats are the few enemies that spawn on the balcony/2nd floor and the Bombers that spawn directly below the left and right corners because at that angle where they stand they can arch bombs right on you while you are behind the pillar. Most of the other Bombers and Troopers below you then kinda gather up like a angry torch mob, from there take pop shots and work on the enemies on the outside of the mob. You will have to worry about Troopers tossing their cluster bomb where you are and you will have to roll in and out of the cover to avoid them. If the Volge below are really unloading on your spot then sprint all the way around to the other pillar to hide behind so they move around enough to break up their angle they had on you. Once you have dwindled the amount of enemies down to where you are comfortable you can jump down and take out the rest.

The one with the Huntmasters you need a pretty solid set up. When they spawn toss down a damage spike to work on their shields and armor plates. When their shields are at like 5% and almost depleted throw a Pyro Grenade on them then take down their shield. The moment their shield is gone they summon drones to refill them so you want them on fire from the Pyro right away so you can get a 20% Damage increase the moment their health is vulnerable. It really helps if you have Overcharge at this point to.
So the moment their shield is down you want them on fire with your damage spike and overcharge active and just unload all your bullets into them. You can take a Hunt Master out quick doing this but if not you are in for a long fight that only gets harder as time goes on because of diminishing resources.

The Swarm of Hunter Drones. I go directly in the middle between the 3 pillars on the ground floor and toss down a protection spike if need be for this. Its going to be crazy, you are going to be surrounded by Drones like their hornets. The pillars in the middle is the only spot they cant move in on you to make you move out of cover, everywhere else in the Ark they get close and take over your ground. You can set up between the pillars and use them as cover and a ammo box is right next to them for you to roll out to use. Take out the few Bombers that spawn first and foremost because they will shoot on you none stop. Then focus fire on one Drone at a time, they have pretty high shield capacity so working on one and not finishing it off will be disadvantageous since its shield will just recharge. Once you take out like a quarter of the Drones it gets easier since they will no longer have the numbers and the amount of fire power on their side that once kept you at bay and you will start taking them out fast.

Others have pointed out life gets easier when you get higher EGO. I seem to recall I noticed the change around 1500 to 2000 EGO rating.

For what it's worth, the DLC bundles aren't that bad compared to the a la carte pricing we might see with F2P. The current Erep outfit alone is around $20. A couple of the DLC's at half the price come with a few outfits, plus other stuff.
