Thread: New WM timers

  1. #121

    This won't fix anything

Instead of waiting an hour inside a WM we will have to wait an hour outside before dropping spikes. A troll will waltz in and drop the spikes early which will still anger everyone and causing a flame war. It fixes the shoot the lock early problem by creating a drop the spike early problem. If after an hour you do get enough people then you will most likely get kicked and not complete it (or split into multiple instances). At least with the current system you could get some sort of reward.

The dev team seems to be awfully shortsighted and doesn't consider the future consequences. For a game that really wants to control player behavior they don't offer enough guidance in the game.

@ Deunan I wasn't talking about no rewards currently. I was jokingly stating the next fix would be no rewards. Unless you're saying that other events offer rewards on failure currently. And if that's the case its news to me lolol.

remove those rewards for failing. I would rather play against the WM to win, and not be with a group of players that are just there for the Arkforge and Keycodes.
In a way, the Warmaster is just a Special Olympic event .. where everyone wins and rewarded even if you lose

I don't think they need to remove all rewards but they definitely need to increase the incentive for defeating the WM. Something like doubling the keys (or halving them for failure) and no kill no ojs would be nice.
Personally I the whole point of doing the WM is to kill the monkey but I don't really pvp or care about getting high score so getting the perfect weapon doesn't matter that much to me. The whole scoring system bothers me. Shooting the same area isn't team work and most of the time it is a bad tactical decision. Taking out multiple targets at once takes more coordination but in this game it score less.

Y'all I was joking about pulling all rewards XD also not sure what PvP has to do with wm. Lost me on that one but as for multiple targets yeah I usually that'd be true. But not in the case of the giant monkey. Requires too much damage in too little time to take out both arms and the back. And I'd argue that it does take teamwork just to get everyone on board with which area to target XD still days where I see people actively targeting what we aren't targeting as a group lmao.

EDIT: It would be funny if they did pull all rewards from a failed wm though. Wonder what the participation would drop too. Also wonder if a massive drop in participation would lead them to fix the numerous issues with the wm instead of breaking it worse

I think the way the reward system works, you couldn't just make it half .. it's either a yes reward or a no reward .. I'm not into Coding jargon, so hope that made some kinds sense.

The warmaster raid needs it's own scoring system
I totally agree, there needs to be more incentive to win, beat the Warmaster, and not just getting a high score
there will always be players that will just be using their favorite weapons, even tho there are a few guides out there explaining what's best to use and not to use.
The only way something where everyone are using the proper weapons, was you could only use weapons that were stored in a weapons cache already there, And I really doubt something like that would be added.

for now we just need to hope players listen or read what works best.
and not everyone plays to win, some play just to play. but I do get irritated on those that show up for the WM raid, just to earn keys and forge, with zero regard to beating the Warmaster

sorry I wasn't clear. Yes on WM shooting same thing is absolutely necessary (and good teamwork). There aren't any other enemies around. In most other cases shooting the same thing leaves a lot of enemies free to shoot you. A real life example is the Captain Phillips rescue where 3 Navy SEALS took 3 shots for 3 kills in 1 second. (I know don't let reality interfere with the game) The point about tactics was a knock on the teamwork scoring thing. It's terrible. I noticed when I switched from higher DPS weapons to an smg with low damage my score shot up like crazy.

You could easily code in something that says if monkey die then reward x2 else reward. Its a very basic binary logic check.

Ahahaha I see. Yeah complaints have been pouring in about the score system but its their to protect people from griefing lolol. Seems to me what we really need is a diagnostic score after the fight. Like a graph or something that shows your damage compared to others as well as showing the health for both the crystal armor and the wm. Show an avg DPS for the entire group and a desired DPS for the entire group and personal. Really give people an idea of this is where I am and that's where I need to be. Buuuuuut that's not gonna be happening. Far as I know we don't even have the health numbers period so we can't even break it down for people. Not beyond this what you should be using and that is what you shouldn't.

Correct all the real numbers are super-secret. We don't know WM's health, we don't know damage, all in the name of keeping griefing out of it? Sense this does not make. If players want to improve then there's no real way to know what to do to get better. Just cross your fingers! And what does it matter? We're all winners!

Meh. I'm so sick of the WM instance being half-@ss** from the start, and now this endless delay on 'fixing' it, and now we hear the fix is probably going to be a WHOLE NEW MESS. It seems like they always want to reinvent the wheel instead of tweaking and perfecting what they already have.

At the very least, this new "fix" will suck up much less of my time in the event that I lose my mind completely and find myself actually going to one. I will probably try to do one alone as well but I fully expect the scaling to be out of control and I'll get my a** whupped in there. 7 minutes of irritation.

One more thing - I would still very much like to know WHEN THEY PLAN ON ROLLING THIS OUT.
