    Seriously pissed off here!

I set this to download overnight, checked when I woke up, 1/10th done! I leave it downloading while I'm at work and it RESETS! Get your act together and sort this **** out. I have yet to be able to play and I likely won't be able to before the show starts in two days! I defended this concept to others because I thought it was a cool idea, I bought this game full price, pre-ordered, something I don't do often. No wonder people doubt innovation these days. Sort this **** before the series starts, PLEASE!

There is also in-game content/quests which must be completed before the show starts to get certain gear.

And it normally resets when there is a new patch out. I wrote a long thread about using old downloaded files so the patcher doesn't skip them and make you re-download the entire game again.

    It may help some.

There is talk about a massive patch coming out on the 15th, and another a week or two after.

With luck, this fixes the issue without forcing people to start downloading again.

The updater alone is a big joke. Is it some project of some kid from elementary school or what? Is it downloading from the beginning every time or WHAT? 300kB/s ? Did you move your servers to bangladesh? This is ***** joke. You could have choose bittorrent to deliver client files but nooo... it will be much better to let people to start hating the whole brand from the beginning. Next time try to distribute your **** over the magnetic tapes.

we need separate links to download patches as downloading from client is a joke or maybe update game.exe and have it uploaded to other sites would make life a lot better, because < 300kb/s is a joke when most the time my d/l speed is about 550kb/s > 800kb/s

I did the speedtest while my system was flailing uselessly at the patcher. If I run the speedtest when Defiance is not trying to patch, I get just over 30 mb/s and under 60 ms ping (which is what I should expect).

So, I would expect nearly 4 megabytes/second download, but on the patcher, I am getting 0.20 MB/sec --> downloading the initial client patch after installing the game to my HDD.

Running on Xbox 360 slim, wireless connection over a Cisco EA5400 Router. My ISP is RoadRunner provided by Time Warner Cable (have yet to have any network problems at all, fantastic and unbelievable as that sounds). In fact, I routinely get nearly 4Mb/sec downloading patches for Rift on my PC. Technically, my Xbox gets streaming priority on the network, and right now the only other devices on the network are my phone and (for the few minutes it took to search this thread and so on) my netbook, so the low download speed is unheard of.

And then it got worse. After I downloaded what I thought was the whole patch, the next patch began downloading at a whopping 0 Mb/s. Patcher Purgatory!

Boy, my impulse control learned a lesson today, hahaha.
