    My thoughts so far...

I know there are a lot of people who are complaining about this or that, that they feel it isn't exactly what they thought it would be or whatnot, but I so far really like this game.

Does it have issues, well yes. Is it perfect, no. But at the end of the day does it do what it is supposed to, and I think that it does. I consider myself a pretty hardcore gamer, and to me this is providing fun and entertainment. No it doesn't have the most polished graphics, and since it is still in the early stages there are issues, but I do applaud Trion for trying to think outside of the box and coming up with something new and different. If you look at the gaming industry today, there is not very much innovation, there is instead the 87th incarnation of Call of Duty or another rehash of Assassain's Creed. Now I do enjoy those types of games also, but I find it refreshing that a company is willing to take the chance and try to create something new and different. Will it need a little work, certainly, but the other titles that people want to keep comparing this to have had years of trials and errors and several versions to get things "just right". I say to those that are skeptical of this game, give it a chance before passing judgement and let the game have time to work out the inevitable kinks.

I myself think that so far this is a great game for what it is and like I said am glad that a developer has taken a chance to try something new rather than churn out the same old crap. My advice to everyone is give it a chance, and if it is not for you then move on to something else, but for me I am excited to see how this title develops.

    Hey Tim,

I completely agree - WAY too many copy cats in the gaming industry these days. Developers would rather make a knock off of a successful game/idea than create their own. With that being said - I do think they launched Defiance a bit-to-soon in order to beat the TV release. A lot of minor issues I am hoping they fix.

i think this game is going to be exactly what i have been looking for in a game. I am sick of all the Sequels, and reboots....this is not original, however its simple, fun and very good game play....thats what we need, this is what makes a game classic.

A sensible review commenting on what the game is for once rather than the 10 million things it should have based on what they have played before. You sir are a gentleman! I applaud you

Just wanted to say I agree with your opinions. I know that Defiance is really rough around the edges right now. But Trion have done well with Rift and I am holding out hope that once they get some of the kinks ironed out and new content rolling in that we will see a truly great game start to grow.

I have had a few graphics hiccups, and the enemy ai can be downright frustrating at times, and I had one story mission reset on me after I had finished it. Those are my only immediate gripes and they are fixable issues.

Leave with this thought. I had hoped this game would be a Tabula Rasa 2.0 in style and scope. It's not really as much RPG as I was hoping for, but Trion have a foundation of a game here that has a lot of promise. Hoping we see them build on it.
