...wow, really? That is..a really glaring design flaw. Well that certain explains some things, though I've seen the text chat issues even when the voice chat wasn't turned off (for instance, two clanmates could see each other's texts even though they both had voice turned off. No one else could see their chat though, and they were speaking in the Clan channel. :| )

Dont worry. Im sure that once the chat gets fixed, you wont be able to stop people from blabbering about random stuff in the chat day and night. :P

This is what worries me...will it get fixed? The chat/VOIP system was designed this way and is working as designed, by definition not broken therefore incapable of being fixed. I can not believe that the developers/designers/QA department thought they had a well designed function. Through out Alpha and Beta people have been bombing Trion with feedback on how useless the chat system is on PC. Trion has been mute on the topic the whole time.

Time will tell but if I had to say one way or the other I think it is Trion is not going to change anything with the chat/VOIP system for a very long time, if ever. Which sadly will turn a lot of people off from the game, you can't remove the MMO from a MMO by not giving your players tools to communicate and expect it to last.

Just saw this in the developer blog they put up about launch. So maybe I am wrong about the chat, I hope so.
