I`ve been around forums for alot of years now and eventually i was banned for most of them.

I was permanently banned from the official forum of Playstation because i was a ferverous opinionator, i tried not being that much in this one and i think that i controlled my self very well.

For the future, in Destiny, i`ll try to stay away from the forum as much as i can except for group forums were we can find people like minded or at least people who respects different opinions.

    I`m tired of fanboys.

I like Defiance but the game is terribly flawed and there are people that refuses to see and accept that.
I also see people commenting about Destiny without even had tried to play the game.

I played the Beta both on my PS4 and PS3, and in the weekend i played enough hours to level up one char to lvl 8 in an alternate account on my PS3.
    Game in PS4 is magnificent.
Game on PS3 has excellent playability, the graphics are lower but very good comparing to Defiance. I heard that Xbox360 has some problems but in the hours that i played on my PS3 it was almost flawless.
And everybody that played the game knows that SNIPERS can really snipe a long way in that game, even on PS3 you can see all the playable zone in draw range.

Like Iceberg already stated, there are lots of areas to explore, just in the Cosmodrome area there are duzens of entrances to caves and underground tunnels, they put there high lvl enemies to prevent further exploration.
And that moon map, just the Hellmouth is a glorious piece of art.

Deunan i don`t get about the "no cover", why do you say that it has no cover?

My guess is he was referring to games that have a cover system... games like Gears of War, Uncharted, GTAV, etc. etc.

    Destiny initial thoughts:

Destiny is not going to be a Defiance killer. Not by a stretch. GTA didn't kill Defiance and neither is Destiny.

Like Crixda said its Halo, Borderlands, and Mass Effect mixed. And although playing a game that gives you reminiscent feels from other things is fun..its not original. The Fallen look and acted exactly like Halo Elites, they have the same mouth and everything along with the same drop ships. So Defiance has more originality for a game.

The game is no doubt visually awesome looking. Its beautiful. I miss looking at it. Most of all I miss the docile sounds when in orbit more then anything. That music was therapeutic. So much so that I wasn't aggravated at the long load times. All games should do this.

The story missons were fun. And gun play was real good and felt satisfying, my favorite since RAGE. Playing on hard difficulty was real fun. Got into a lot of cool fire fights with PvE enemies since they stayed their ground and took cover. Unlike in Defiance where a lot of enemy types walk the player down. That's the problem with Defiance and difficulty scaling, majority of enemy types will move towards you to take ground which either results in bullet sponge enemies since they walk right towards you and they need to be that, or they are not resilient enough and get gunned down since they walk right towards you. Both are experienced in Defiance. So PvE enemies are more fun to fight in Destiny then as it is in DeFi because they just act realer.

The way weapon ammo is handled is really cool. It allows Power and Heavy weapon types to be just that since ammo for them is scarce and capacity to hold them is low. It allows shotguns and snipers to be really strong at a price of only having a hand full of shots with them at any giving time. It is definitely one of my favorite features on how guns in the game work.

No trading or chat window was disappointing. The game definitely needs these things to be able to trade weapons, armor, and most of all raw materials. But from what I gather that might not be the case. Its not something that will be in the game at launch and the whole thing is up in the air still. And Destiny will not have open world text chat. So if trading does make its way into the game down the line its not going to be a open market to the point of going into chat and posting what you are selling or looking to buy. Destiny is going to lack in the community aspect.

Destiny has a Bank to be able to trade items between a players characters. Be nice if Defiance had this, a bank that can hold 9 items to trade between.

    Destiny Overview:

Destiny is going to consist of 4 Worlds. Earth which we saw most of, some areas were cut off. The Moon, Mars, and Venus and another location on Venus. Now although what we saw was stunning looking I wasn't all the impressed by the world size and I don't think I will be for the others. The game world that we played in the Beta was just a glorified Halo level broken into separate smaller Zones for each mission. And when being able to free roam the level itself and circle navigate it, it really showed how small in scale it was.

So take the biggest level in any of the Halo games, add some mmo elements, a hub, and allow players to return to that level. And that's what Destiny felt like. So basically its going to be 4 Halo levels to explore, level up, and find chests in.

Which brings me to what Defiance can take from Destiny. Exploration. The world in Defiance is very big...its just doesn't get to shine since players only transverse 40% of it. Now even though Destiny is most likely going to be smaller by comparison in the grand scale of things its going to use more of what it has and in turn make itself feel bigger. I was able to go into nitch corners and expect to find nothing but ended up finding something and that made me want to explore everywhere. Going into an area and hearing the SpinMetal shimmer noise had me looking all around trying to find it. I would search every cave and look around every corner. Only if Defiance gave a reason to explore its whole world and instance maps. There are all kinds of areas that are cool looking with detail like Mt Tams urban ruins but no reason at all whatsoever to trek around these spots. Defiance is all A-B locations and Fast Travel points. Defiance needs to have a reason to open up like Destiny does.

The Instance maps/Strike Mission was nothing special after the first go through. But strike Missions will have higher difficulty settings as you level up which will refresh their play through along with 2nd variations of each one called Nightfall which will be dramatically increased in difficulty. So 6 Strike Missions all together plus Nightfall versions. Strike Missions are probably going to be the games best feature.

    Destiny PvP:

PvP is Unreal Tournament with Call of Duty Life Bars. And level designs that were shown were nothing special. Just small isolated levels.. And knowing Bungie and Activision all PvP levels except 2 are going to be small as hell for 6v6 and 3v3 maps. Gameplay is all cutting distance, there's no middle ground. Its either far enough to score easy sniper kills or close enough to just spam around Auto Rifle rounds and melee hits. Shotguns blew, you are better off hitting melee because you will get hits off faster then that of the pump or charge shotgun could get off and kill them easier then they would you. Of course weapons are subject to change but that wont change the core dynamics of PvP.

The super jumping is stupid, everyone is flying through the air like falling leaves. And all done so for the sake of making the PvP "MLG" material which Destiny PvP has MLG written all over it. The Guardian powers don't feel satisfying when killing other players with them and they feel cheap when killed by them because they are 'gimmi kills' that cant fail.

Not to mention PvP is nothing but a numbers game. Casuals are not going to have any fun with this once things get rolling. Destiny PvP is going to be the land of the Clans. Players who group and work together will reap the benefits of when teammates get Power kills that will in turn drop orbs to refill other teammates Power meters, so they can use their Powers to get Power kills that will in turn will drop orbs to refill other teammates Power meters, so they can use their Powers to get Power kills so on and so forth.... Its a good idea to want to make random players on a team to feel the need to stick together but that's something that's not going to happen. Casuals are not going to thrive with this mechanic. There is nothing keeping players grounded that could allow Casuals to roll together in the first place, everyone is flying all over the place. The moment the round starts everyone is up in the air in every compass direction with no natural direction to hold players to. And that is going to be very frustrating for Casual PvPers who go in to play solo with other randoms.

Experiencing the good of what Defiance PvP has to offer and seeing what it can provide Defiance PvP is better then Destiny's. For sure no doubt Defiance PvP is rough as hell as it is now but Defiance is always updating, always changing, always cleaning up and getting better. Destiny is going to be set in its ways. You add some vehicle variants to Defiance Shadow Wars and it just got a whole lot better. Destiny's max 6v6 small matches wont compare as end game content to the thrills of 64v64 Defiance is able to offer.

    Final thoughts:

Destiny beta was fun and there is a good chance Im going to buy it but its no Defiance killer. Defiance has more to offer and over time can offer a lot more. You could look at it as Defiance Quantity vs Destiny Quality. But even then that's a bit of a understatement towards Defiance as its Quality continues to improve.

When looking at the Fallen without helmets their mouths look like Elites, even the same skin tone. But they have 6 eyes instead of 2.Not to mention they fought like Elites. And the drop ships acted exactly the same. Fly in, shoot a couple of inaccurate laser shots and air drop guys down.

And when moving around the Cosmo Drome "world" it felt like a Halo level. Go pop in a Halo game, pick the biggest map and just explore around...and you got the base of Destiny.

Not that these are bad things. But they are true.

And Ive even pointed out what things Defiance could adopt from Destiny because what Destiny showed was good.. but Destiny wont be able to adopt anything from Defiance or from anything else to expand on itself other then what its set and made to do, its set in its ways.

Destiny is not going to have any serving community aspect. Defiance does and it will improve. Destiny will have no changes to existing play spaces. Defiance has added numerous set pieces to its world since launch. Destiny is not going to have a evolving story outside of its DLCs, if you don't have the DLC then you wont be able to access new zones and their missions. Defiance's story is steadily progressing and free to take part of with new missions and enemies.

No doubt Destiny will be a fun game but it doesn't have the tools to kill Defiance and Defiance doesn't have the tools to kill Destiny.

The shotguns in PvP work. I got tons of kills using them.
The clock goes round and round.
    Where it goes nobody knows.
Except those few who don't try and loose.
The clock keeps ticking as fortune glooms.
Fore those who are loose with what they choose.
The clock keeps ticking over those bafoons while the watchful eye always looms.

I don't find it surprising that Destiny has some similarities to the (very successful) Halo series (1-3, ODST, Reach) seeing as they're both made by Bungie. Just like I wouldn't find it surprising for Defiance to have some similarities to Rift...
