TRION, Where are the Sales to Celebrate going F2P?

I'm waiting for you to put Bits or the Season Pass/DLC or those new 'Starter' Packs on sale on Steam or your store to advertise going Free-to-Play on PC! I'm sure there are many on Steam who aren't even aware Defiance is F2P now. A sale would let them know and draw a lot more interest to try the game out for the first time if they haven't before, or get back into it again if they have.

Also, I want to spend money on your game, but you're going to have to meet me half-way. How about 50% off the Season Pass to start with, or Double Bits for your money like your May 2013 Bit sale? Help me help you!

    Waitin' for dem sales guys.

I am wondering and hoping this is all snark and not serious.

They can't give us a working game and the bones they throw us really do not really effect gameplay. Free bits? Half off? The majority of the community and I dare say I will speak for us all would prefer the game to WORK over any sale. YOu can have all the bits you want and the expansions (that aren't really worth it)... but when the game is crashed, booting, timing out, lagging, and unplayable for anyone - none of that - none - will do you a "bit" of good.

    Trion fix it.

Au contraire, I think your post encapsulates 'snark'.

Sale or no sale, is not in any way going to impact if TRION works on 'fixing' the game issues you describe above. Although the extra income a sale would provide might go some ways to paying for better service (ie. more servers, better networking etc.) should TRION choose to do so. A sale would also help mitigate the inconvenience these issues have posed to the community, generate good-will amongst the player base, and would be a big thank-you to those who have stuck with the game through all of these difficulties.

But I suppose it's too late for you as you've likely already purchased this content at full price and are now bitter. I understand.

So you were serious? You will soon understand then. If you stay that is.

I too, like you, feel like TRION has missed the mark in many ways with Defiance, such as store pricing. The steep prices on rather trivial content has certainly kept me from making many impulse purchases that I otherwise would have made gladly, as the core game under all the MMO/F2P crap that overlays it is rather good for the most part (copied as it is from the Borderlands game model); it's TRION's saving grace with Defiance.

I stopped playing back in Jan. due to issues of TRION's creation, and it's only some unfinished business that I'd like to wrap up (such as finishing the main story missions on my primary character) that has brought me back for more with the launch to F2P. I feel like whether they retain my playership for the long term or not remains in their boat. A sale to make the currently available content more economical considering what relatively little is provided in each DLC/pack would go a long way toward that. I mean, the VBI Ultimate pack doesn't even include any Bits, and only FIFTY Arkforge. For $100 dollars. Can you believe that? You should get $50 bucks worth of Bits and 1000 Arkforge for that much money, at the very least.

I've dropped more money on MMO/F2P games I've played 1/10th of the time or less that I've spent in Defiance because of reasonably priced sales of content. TRION just doesn't seem to understand their customers' mindset that way though. I'd drop 50 bucks on bits right now if I could get 10,400 instead of 5,200 for my money. The ball is in your court TRION.

Otherwise I'll prolly get tired of the inventory slot limitations and the other BS they put us through to try to force real money transactions and milk every last drop out of us that they can get, and stop playing again. This F2P nonsense has only made those ploys that much worse.

I think they'd prefer everyone buy a Founders Pack to Archeage.

TRION. The Kings and Queens of Overpriced Elitist Content Packs. Yay! lol

If there's anything Defiance has taught me, it's that I shouldn't even darken the doorway of any of their other projects (an apt analogy given their logo lol). It's too costly otherwise. :P

EDIT: Holy crap, the Voxel Savant Package, roflmao! I was just joking with a friend that we'd soon see the day they wheeled out $500 level 'founder' packs, but this takes the cake. They skipped all the pleasantries and just went for the jugular. You know someone's gonna buy that ****. Heck, GabeN wipes his *** with more expensive TP no doubt, but honestly...

I love how the first selling feature is (bulletpoint) Instant Alpha Access! Ohhhhh yaaaaaaa baby. Must have it!
